Of the true story movies I've watched, this was the second to actually bring me to tears. It was sad because I remember actually watching the mother of Gwen on the Montell show before. I was young when I first saw that, but being a little older now and seeing the ACTUAL story of this, it truly brought tears to my eyes non-stop. The acting was good to reenact the playback of the young girl. It was also great because of the message it displayed about bullying to those who are different. Especially towards transgendered people. Sad truth but great message to get across to those who are so quick to react violently towards someone who is different. Getting to know someone could save a life. I love this movie.

Even if I wasn't gay, I would still give this movie 5 stars. I never saw a network taking such great efforts in teaching compassion through history. So beautifully written and written from the mother's point of view (played so flawlessly by Mercedes Ruel). The best part that bats it to a home run is the ending. As powerful and unforgettable, like seeing the ending to Gran Torino and how it impacted our view of our differences make life amazing when we open our minds and not running away from what we are afraid of or don't know brings a paradimn of optimism in our own outlook.

And ladies, even your Superbowl, tough-as-sht men will shed a tear. Yup, honey, it IS that good!!!

When I first saw this movie on LifeTIme I was moved to tears by it and wanted to see if there was a way that I could own a copy to support the cause for Gwen Araujo. I am soooooooo glad Amazon has this available. I snagged it up right away!

This is a very powerful movie and one everyone should see. Hatred, bigotry and bullying is in all forms, shapes and sizes. Gwen should have been able to have a fruitful and happy life!

We need to put an end to ALL prejudices!

I liked this movie, educational for people that need to understand what it is like for children growing up and finding out they are different, and how we need to accept them for who they are, no one is perfect and we are all god's children. RIP Gwen and my continued prayers and support for her family that still advocates for her and many others...

My beautiful sweet niece Gwen you are still thought of every day. I am so happy that her movie is available here. Because this was a made for tv movie it can't possibly represent all the struggles TG endure in day to day life and the true horror of her violent death as well as the complete insanity the family endured in the aftermath of the tragedy but I believe it was exceptionally written and wonderfully acted to portray Gwen's story. So much has been done to advance transgender rights and bring to light this human identity crisis since your death. Thanks to the release of this film and the hard work of my sister Sylvia and the many fighters of the LGBT community we hope to end this violence and discrimination for all the brave and courageous people who choose to live true to themselves. OUR GWEN LIVES ON FOREVERMORE OUR BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLY ANGEL!😇🌈💗

A very touching movie, well acted (especially Gwen's mother's Mercedes Ruehl).

It doesn't matter what gender or sexual preference you are this is a story about the fight to be who you are, and when this doesn't meet other people's perceptions the bias and cruelty that people will inflict when they fear to question who they really are.

This film accurately portrays the story of Gwen Araujo, teenage transwoman whose family struggled to accept her and ultimately came to love her. She was brutally beaten and strangled. Her mother testified at her trial and gave a powerful moving statement to rebut the defense attorney's closing argument. I could not view it without crying.

Love this movie very heartbreaking but speaks a thousand words I first watched it when it first came out on lifetime with my mother I am a gay man but had a cousin that was transgender and died back in the eighties I wish society was more accepted then then it is now definitely recommend to watch.
