Editorial Reviews

Lucille P. Robinson of Alternative-Read.Com - "Girl of My Dreams is a superbly written story of true love & the kind of love that causes a woman to save herself for the right man. The story moves your emotions from calm to excitement to joy to happiness. Yes, a little fear shows its ugly face in there as well. A good, fast read brought to a satisfying end. A story that takes you into the heart of a woman's dreams of being in a beauty contest, desired by a rich handsome man, and admired by many fans."

Brenda Talley, formerly of TheRomanceStudio.Com - "The plot offered by Ms. Mandel is fresh, exciting and one that will definitely keep readers' attention. These characters were bold and diverse. The author has used her sense of humor, as well as her sense of adventure, to present the storyline. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this Cinderella Story."

Rose of TheLongAndShortReviews.Com - "Ms. Mandel brings us a fun twist on the traditional Cinderella story...Girl of My Dreams is funny, has great descriptions of the exotic locales the show visits, and is just an enjoyable afternoon read."
Pat White, Multi-Published Romance Author - "A diverting read with plenty of humor and tenderness...A fresh and charming Cinderella story."

George Thompson of PopSyndicate.Com - "Full of frills and laughs galore from beginning to end. Ms.Mandel knows how to bring flat images on paper to life by giving each of them something to do with the story she is weaving and does it quite well."

From the Author

I had tons of fun writing Girl of My Dreams. It was a huge departure from my first book, Two Wrongs, a murder mystery with a romance tucked inside. In Two Wrongs, the focus of the book was a tragedy and how the two characters learned to deal with it.

In Girl of My Dreams, the focus is the love story and how the two main characters from different backgrounds and life values can find common ground and learn to love each other.

I couldn't resist throwing in a bit of suspense in this book as well, but in a humorous way.
It seems I can't help adding romance to my mysteries and mystery to my romances.

I hope you enjoy Girl of My Dreams.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Charming Tale December 29, 2007
Reviewed by Christina Wantz Fixemer
on 12/29/2007

When Jillian Baker makes the impulsive decision to join a reality show, she has no idea just how big a deal it will become. Acting on a minor loophole in the rules, she goes from being the producer's assistant to a popular contestant on "Girl of My Dreams," a show where the winner will get the chance to wed a millionaire. Jillian didn't mean for it to be a fiasco--she just wanted to help when the show was a finalist short. Someone had to jump in!

Blake Caldwell is furious that his plain-Jane assistant went behind his back to get on his show. Even worse, she's hands-down gorgeous when made up, and the show's millionaire star isn't blind. How can he get Jillian off the show when she is easily the most popular contestant, and maybe even the girl of his dreams?

Full of heart and humor, GIRL OF MY DREAMS is a story about more than flashbulbs and PR bits. Family, love, and greed's temptation steer Jillian and Blake through the uncharted waters of life.

From Hawaii to Venice, L.A. to Paris, Mandel has written a charming tale that will leave readers with a smile in their heart and whistle on their lips.

GIRL OF MY DREAMS is a fun, entertaining look at the ins and outs of being a reality show contestant. Set in exotic locations around the world, this story follows Jillian and her true love on a romantic adventure in search of happily ever after. If you're a hopeless romantic, you'll fall in love with GIRL OF MY DREAMS. Mandel proves her versitility with this light-hearted comedy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good story February 9, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
(added on review) I feel like I was a bit too harsh in my original review and just wanted to clarify a bit by noting this is a nice book with a cute storyline. I am a bit older now and have read some other books of this genre and this is actually one of the better ones. Even with that being so, I still rate it average at 3.5 stars. I am changing my review to four stars by rounding up.

A good, sweet story. Well maybe not sweet so much. The first half of the book was annoying in a way. In books guys are supposed to be sweet, not depicted as they are in real life. It bugged me how horny everyone was and went a little over board in my opinion. Glad there were no explicit sex scenes like most romances these days. That was refreshing anyway. The second half of the book looked up though and became sweeter. And I adored the ending. It is the kind of ending I always enjoy so that is a plus. The only thing about the ending I didn't like was when she said she paused the movie and yet when Blake came in the actress was crying on-screen. It was only like two pages appart. I dislike inconsistencies. Other than that the grammar mistakes weren't too bad and the story line was nice. I enjoyed the story, wasn't absolutely in love with it, but it was a very decent little book.

I think I will read some other stories by this author. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and romantic March 1, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a very wonderful book. I love romance books that aren't x-rated and this one was perfect. Thank you Morgan for taking me to Venice, Paris, and Hollywood. The movie in my mind that my imagination was able to make from your writing was fabulous. Thanks again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reality Television February 1, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This light hearted romance draws the reader in and moves along well with a bouncing tempo.
The story live centers on Jillian, a tried and true producer's assistant and her desire to win the heart of her famous employer, Blake. Although he never notices her while she works behind the scenes to support his effort to be a success outside of his renowned family name, fate grants her a chance to catch his eye...and she takes it.
When a food poisoning incident leaves the show without enough female contestants, Jillian leaves her temp job and steps into the part. Remade as a dream girl she must take on a new role in the public well as in Blake's. Wealth and glamor tempt the now bedazzling beauty into making a choice between her new world and her ultimate desires.

This is a delightful read that I recommend to anyone that enjoys a pleasant story or a light romance.

5.0 out of 5 stars A reality star is born August 13, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Jillian was supposed to find another girl at the last minute for the reality show, Girl of my Dreams. Instead she presented herself unbeknownst to the producer Black Cadwell, that was until the cameras started to roll and it was too late for any of them to go back. The plan was simple or so Jillian first thought, she would be eliminated from the competition, the last thing she wanted was the arrogant billionaire. She was doing it for Blake, but he didn't see it that way. With Mecca's future at stake, they were forced to play along. Problem was that the bachelor Troy kept her in the competition.

The story moved along from one exotic local the next as the tension between Blake and Jillian increased. How could he not see she was only doing this for him and the show, and how could she stop herself from falling for the elusive producer?

Girl of my dreams is a very lighthearted and funny book filled with plenty of costume changes. I found the characters very likable and well rounded. I'd highly recommend this book to anyone that loves romance. It's good clean fun with a few twists and turns along the way.

Great job Morgan, I'll be reading more books by you in the future.
