Who knew this former Wings star could be such a talent?,

I never knew what a voice Crystal Bernard had. I enjoyed this CD tremendously. She has a long career ahead of her. Country and wonderful. What a great storyteller. This is why I love country music.

A review on the album (The girl next door),

In regards to Crystal Bernards first album, this album clearly shows that Miss Bernard has a lot of potential that has yet to be tapped. I believe that except for one or two songs that this album was truly top notch. I look forward to purchasing her next album.

I bought this album about 8 years ago on a whim, not even hearing one song before I bought it. Fortunately, I didn't regret it, although only half the album is memorable while the other half is forgettable. It is 8 years later, and I can still remember how these songs sound like (they all happen to be in the first half): -"Could Have Been Mine" The best songs are "Eleven Roses," Have We Forgetten What Love Is," and "This Purple Heart." I especially like the lyrics to "Eleven Roses" and "Purple Heart." As for the second half, I don't remember how any of them sound like. In other words, they are forgettable: -"Miracle" Let's not even talk about the "Intro," which is utterly pointless and a waste of a track. Crystal has a sweet Sherrie Austin voice with an occasionally overdone vibrato and the album has a country sound, which works for her. This is a good album, not a great one, but good.

This is one of those CD's that is an undiscovered jewel. The first time I saw Crystal on CMT I couldn't believe it. Her voice is great and has such true feeling that everytime I listen to her songs I like them more and more. In fact, I have gotten several of my friends hooked and the local music store actually had to order more. I think if she would have gotten more advertising, etc. she could have easily had a gold album with this one. I hope she is able to make it with her newest one. Defenitely a must listen to.

I LOVED the album. I like country and soft rock and she fits the bill on both. It is a wonderful combination. I heard her sing originally on "Happy Days" and "It's a Living" so I was not surprised when she came out with an album (granted years later) she has a beautiful voice. I have since purchased her newest album "Don't touch me there" and it is equally as good!!

This was one of my first CD's when I was like 10. I remember always playing it. I think when I was that young I didn't realize how country she was. Now I listen to it and wow, it really is country!
I remember I LOVED "State of Mind", and "Eleven Roses".

I never knew that Crystal Bernard was a singer until about 1999 when I discovered this CD the first time. I was so happy that I bought it. I love country music and I enjoy good love songs so it was perfect for me. I did lose the CD and was VERY happy when I came across it again in a local music store. Matter of fact, I am playing "This Purple Heart" as the prelude for my wedding this Sat. I hope you will all give it a chance!

Not bad, but certainly not great,

I bought this CD many years ago as a fan of "Wings" and because I liked Crystal Bernard on the show. She has a pretty good voice, but the song selection is terrible. With the exception of "State of Mind," "Have We Forgotten..." and maybe one other song, the rest are fairly boring. I had two really big pet peeves on this album. The first was the intro, which is an old recording of Bernard singing some cutesy song when she was 4 years old or so. I guess it's supposed to be one of those things that make you go "ahhh, how clever, she was singing even when she was a baby and now she's making a career out of it!" I don't care that she sang a few times as a kid. I bought the CD to be entertained, not to hear some screeching kid sing "Oh My Darling" on a scratchy 30 year old recording. This same thing was done on Martina McBride's "Independence Day" CD and it is annoying. I buy a CD to be entertained. I want the best most playable song as the first track, not this garbage taking up a vital spot on the CD that I'm going to have to skip over every time I insert the CD. Intros should be saved for rap music. My next annoyance, half the songs have the word "love" in them! Why did the songwriters feel the need to use this word in the chorus of every song?! Overall, I would stay away from this CD, because while it's got a couple of playable tracks, but the novelty factor of Crystal Bernard singing country music isn't worth the $10 (listen up Mary McCormick, aka Marsha Brady fans).

Totally Lame!,

This album was very lame and poorly done. With the exception of the songs "Have We Forgotten What Love Is", "Eleven Roses" and "State of Mind", the rest of the songs on the CD are terrible! They're just plain awful. She's got potential, she has a lovely singing voice but she didn't need to sing country music. I loved the duet she performed with Peter Cetera, "Forever Tonight". It was a beautiful soft rock duet. And I feel that her best genre would be to perform soft rock, pop flavored songs. I am rather disappointed that "Forever Tonight" wasn't included on the CD. But it's easy to see why this album was a flop, didn't sell very well and that it's now considered Out Of Print. It's boring. Now I actually like some country music but just not when Crystal performs it, she needs to be a pop star.
