My daughter asked for this cd after seeing it advertised on nickelodeon. While most of it is fine, specifically the Veronica's song talks about spending the night with a guy and giving him the "ride of his life". Not really what I had in mind for my 9 yr old!

girl next is a great cd for tweens & teens. The only reason i rated it 4 stars was 2 of the songs(Fool & 4ever) said things like you asked me over 4 a drink or 2. And, next thing i know i woke next 2 u. then in 4ever it said i want 2 spend the night with u,we can make this night last 4ever. so its not a c.d for young kids. but otherwise it's a REALLY good c.d. with great songs!

This CD is full of very talented artists who may have started at Disney roots, but will soon spring up into the world of singers. My favorite is Jordan Pruitt with Outside Looking In. Then comes Material Girl by Hilary and Haylie Duff. Hayden Panettiere is also very good. Her song I Fly was also in Ice Princess.

This CD is a must buy for girls of tween and young teen age. Its full of very good music, including the A-mazing Hannah Montana who's full CD is much anticipated.

This is a great CD and these artists will hopefully progress into the world of singers, the only other great singer missing from this CD is Brie Larson, who is not yet famous, but is a very talented singer.

I noticed that some reviewers commented about the lyrics on some songs.
Not exactly Disney form, I agree.

Still, preteens would likely attach completely different innuendo than teens or grownups.
Or not, in which case the parent has much bigger problems than the lyrics within.

My recommendation: after receiving your purchased copy, edit a mix without those songs. iTunes works nicely for this and costs nothing.

Girl Next is a great new compilation from Smackers. The 14 song compilation includes songs from the hottest young teen stars. The disc also includes the hot song "Material Girls" by Hilary and Hailey Duff. The first song on the disc is the "Rush" remix by Aly & AJ. If you are a Kelly Clarkson fan you will be pleased to know that an exclusive acoustic version of her song "Breakaway" is featured on Girl Next. This isn't the only exclusive featured on Girl Next. The CD also includes exclusive songs from Hayden Panettiere (she's the actress from Bring It On All or Nothing), Hanna Montana, and Jordan Pruitt. Hot new teen star Vanessa Anne Hudgens, the actress who played Gabrielle in the movie High School Musical contributes a song to the soundtrack. The liner notes from the CD are awesome. It's a full color booklet with color photographs of all of the artists who contributed to the CD in addition to coupons and special offers from Smackers and Migo Phone.

I really liked a few of the tracks.

I bought the CD for the "Material Girls" song, but found that my favorite track on the CD is "Outside Looking In" sung by Jordan Pruitt. I found myself liking Jodan Pruitt's singing a lot more than any other artist on the Album.

I like the "Cinderella" Song, performed by the Cheetah Girls, but I prefer the version done by the group Play.
I have always liked the lyrics to this song a lot, and the tune is o.k.

The version of Material Girls, performed by Hilary and Haylie, is not any better than (not even as good as) the version done by Madonna, and not much different. Madonna may be much more talented than Hilary and Haylie, but I still like Hilary's and Haylie's voices a lot.

Some good songs were on here like (Cinderella, Ultraviolet, Your New Girlfriend, Outside Looking In, and Material Girls) and there were some bad songs like, "4Ever" and "Fool"

In "Fool" she said, "..You invited me over for a drink or two....And next thing I knew, I woke up next to you" and in "4Eer it says, ".. and I wanna spend the night with you, with you, with you, come we tonight we can make this night last forever..."

I guess this CD is OK. I dont' listen to it much.

Very hard item to find, but Amazon came through!! My daughters love it!

I love this CD! The songs are soooo good! Here is my outlook on them:

Rush Remix- Okay, I mean, I like the song but it's not my fave
Cinderella- Good! I really like this song
Breakaway- really good
Material Girls- really good
Real Wild Child- Never listen to it.
When there was me and you- I have the high school soundtrack and this song is OKAY
Ultraviolet- LOVE IT!
Baby it's you- LOVE IT TOO!
Best of Both worlds- Don't care for Hannah Montatan that much but still good!
Fool- Don't like it..............
Crowded- really good
Your new girlfriends- really good
Outside looking in- really good
4ever- REALLY good. Always listen to it

I bought this for my seven going on 13 year old daughter. She loves the mix on this CD! It has all of her favorites! All of the girls are so into music, and this is great because it has songs by everyone from the Disney channel- including A.J.and Aly, The Cheetah Girls, and of course Hannah Montana is huge with this crowd. It also has an acoustic version of Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson and a great version of Material Girl by Haylie and Hillary Duff. My daughter and her friends know the words to every song. If you have a Disney channel fan in the house-buy this CD!
