This is the first book I have read from Freda Lightfoot - and it's a great book.
If you like Authors like Anita Burgh, Maeve Binchy and Maureen Lee - you will love this book. Ms Lightfoot is brilliant with this book of Historical Fiction, the characters come to life - it's engrossing - she strikes that fine balance in this type of novel that can sometimes become all about the 'love story' - not here - the story is well told and solid. There is a follow up to this novel "Woman from Heartbreak House" which I have just purchased.
