Book Description

October 1, 2011

To commemorate its 100th anniversary, Girl Scouts of the USA is launching a yearlong celebration that kicks off with this special look at its history. The organization has culled iconic photographs, documents, and letters from its vast archives that honor the unique sisterhood of Girl Scouts, some never before seen. Images include historical uniforms, memorabilia, and photographs with first ladies of the United States. Organized by decade, this book is the essential keepsake and gift for Girl Scouts members, alumnae, volunteers, and supporters.

Praise for Girl Scouts:

“This lighthearted look at the Girl Scouts is bound to invoke nostalgia and pride in former members and make you crave some delicious Thin Mint cookies."

This book is well done. It traces the Girl Scouting movement from its beginnings in 1912 to the present day. It is chock full of pictures and quotations. By taking a decade by decade approach, no portion of Girl Scout history is ignored.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice gift for a Girl Scout Alum December 17, 2011
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I actually bought this for myself but this would be a good gift for a Girl Scout Leader or Alum. Its a nice hardcover book with a lot of pictures and history of Girl Scouting broken up by decade with other interesting facts inserted here and there. Haven't read through it yet but flipped through the pages and it was fun to see the historical photos.
