Book Description

9 and up4 and up
Beau, crippled and almost blinded by a terrible accident, is sent to recover in the South of France. Here, it is hoped, the clear blue sea and the influence of his indom-itable Aunt Mimi will heal his damaged body and revive his spirit. When Lelee, the wild daughter of a Provencal smuggler, bursts from the sea, it becomes a summer of diving, glorious food, hidden treasure, smuggling, and Jacques Cousteau.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Girl from the Sea (Paperback)
The girl from the sea was an innovative and inspiring read. It was a riveting storyline, with well-defined characters, and twists and turns in all sorts of unlikely places. It was the account of Beau, a 13yr old English boy who was injured in an accidental explosion that left him crippled. What followed was a story of determination, swimming, and a strange metal box, set in the beautiful south of France.
