Vanessa Rubin should get a lot more press and sell a lot more CDs than she does, and GIRL TALK is another reason why. Classic, elegant and soulful - Vanessa delivers jazz standards as they were ment to be sung. She maintains the integrity of the song, and always leaves you wanting more.
With the loss of most of the great ladies of jazz, Vanessa Rubin gives us something to hope for.

I am mostly writing to say that Wally Shoup got it wrong in the review or whoever types in the review got it wrong....anybody who knows Etta's voice would know that that was the inimitable Etta Jones singing and not Etta James. All three Vanessa, Etta and Etta are wonderful....but it has to be said and corrected that the singer with Ms. Rubin was ETTA JONES!
But not for me....swinging. Very nice, Vanessa and great taste in singers.....how nice to have something with Etta now that we will all miss her so much.
