All of the tracks; great little album, June 25, 2008
This review is from: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (Audio CD)
It's unlikely you would buy the soundtrack to Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time) simply for the music. As a standalone product, the instrumental score is enjoyable, occasionally peppy, and mostly derivative. However, as an adjunct to the movie, the soundtrack successfully evokes memories of the story's key scenes, from the exciting (and fatal) bike ride down the hill to the moments of introspection, dismay, and doubt shared by the characters. None of the tracks are absent (as is all too often in soundtracks today, witness Hanenone from Haibane Renmei and many others). Overall, a satisfying CD to match the equally satisfying and thought-provoking DVD.
