This is a fun album, but not as good as some of their classics (Energized, Night Shift, Stone Blue). This is the first album they recorded with their original guitarist Rod Price. The guitarist on this album is Erik Cartwright and he has a different style than Rod Price. I think Rod was quite the master of slide guitar and although Cartwright is decent enough,he isn't in the same league as Price.
This is one of those transition albums - from rock more towards pop. There came in time in Foghat's career when their (what we now call) classic rock sound wasn't selling as much and this was one of the band's attempts at keeping up with the times and going a little more mainstream. It doesn't have that same driving, heavy beat of, say, Night Shift. It's still a good album, though it's upbeat, energetic, and fun but not as seriously rock 'n' roll as some of their previous albums. "Live now, Pay Later" is a funny song, but a little monotonous sounding. My favorite tracks are probably "Second Childhood" and "Weekend Driver". "Sing about Love" is a fun one but a little odd. It's supposed to sound "live" with a crowd in the background, etc. but if you listen to he playing style, etc. it is clearly a studio track made to have some of the feel of a live track.

this one is better than 'tight shoes' it's less a boogie rocker though than their classic period from 72-79. However songs like 'live now pay later' are pretty darn good rock and roll songs. I wouldn't give 'zig zap walk' or 'tight shoes' this high of a rating because this one is just better than those. The band basically only did three cds in the 80's before breaking up, they returned a decade later though with the original band. But this one isn't too shabby, I think 70's fh fans should not be too unhappy with this one although it's not up to that level overall.
