This is a super cute trike for beginners and on... Made by Radio Flyer which has been around forever and is great quality! My husband and I found it at ToysRUs and our 16 month old little girl sat right on it as if she had riden it a hundred times! Pink and Purple and really girly yet durable and well- made! We got it for her for Christmas and she just adores it!!! Great price too. Check it out in the store and see if your little one loves it as much as ours! Enjoy! :)

We just got this trike at toysrus for our 24 month old daughter. It looked so adorable online and in the store, and looked fairly similar to the Kettler that my older daughter had. The price was a plus, as well. However, once we got it home and tried it out, it did not take long to figure out how dangerous this trike is. The first try at a turn and WHAM! the trike tipped and fell over. I thought this might have been a fluke and that perhaps my daughter was not sitting on the trike correctly, so I got her back on and away she went again. About the 3rd or 4th try at a turn and WHAM! Again, the trike tipped and fell over, and this time she got a slightly bloody nose from hitting the pavement hard, face first. Needless to say, I put the bike away immediately and I am returning it ASAP. This trike is definitely a hazard.
We have NEVER had a problem with our older daughter's Kettler Blossom trike. It has NEVER tipped. So, this incident took me by surprise and afterward, I compared the trikes. Although I am not an engineer, it seems fairly clear to me why the Kettler is infinitely more stable. First, the distance between the two back wheels on the Radio Flyer is only 11 inches. On the Kettler, the distance is 14 inches, a full 3 inches wider. Also, the distance front to back on the Kettler is longer. Finally, the wheels on the Kettler are bigger.
Another plus for the Kettler is that the frame is adjustable and as your child grows, you can lengthen the frame to accomodate longer legs. The Radio Flyer is not adjustable. This wasn't a concern for me, because I figured that when my younger daughter outgrew her trike, she would start riding my older daughter's adjustable Kettler, while my older daughter would get a regular bike.
In any event, you don't need to take just my word for it. Please, please, please take a look at the reviews for the Radio Flyer Fold-2-Go trike, which is the EXACT SAME TRIKE as this one, but it is red and blue instead of pink and purple. There are several reviewers of that trike that have had the same experience with tipping. This is an important safety issue and should be of great concern to all parents of young toddlers who are shopping for trikes.
Now, the Kettler is much more expensive, but they make the SAME tricycle as the Blossom, but with a different name and much less expensive. It's called the Kiddi-o Simba. I've just contaced Kettler and verified that it is basically the same trike with the same dimensions and safety features. (you can go to www.kiddi-o.com and call the toll free number yourself.) Plus, it's only 29.99 right now at Toysrus (the same price as this Radio Flyer.) Personally, I'm going to go out and exchange this one for the Simba immediately. Sure, the Radio Flyer is very cute, and the little basket, the bell and the fringe on the handles are adorable. But don't be taken in by how cute it is. It is unsafe.

My daughter received this bike for Christmas when she was 2 and a half. Overall, it's been a great bike for her and she rides it almost everyday. The little bucket in back is great for her sippy cup or her dolls. I have noticed that it occasionally tries to tip over, but she reacts by sticking her feet out to catch herself, so she's never wiped out. However, the one thing i'm dissatisfied with is it's weather resistance. In order to keep it looking new, you have to bring it in every night, which we did at first, but now we leave it outside on the patio all the time. The two screws on the seat are not sealed over with anything, so they've rusted. Also, the plastic parts have no UV protection, so they faded after about a week of leaving it outside. Granted, we live in Texas where it's 400 degrees, but I still think they should have weatherproofed it a little better. Overall, for the price and the amount of play my daughter has gotten out of it, it's a great buy.
