Drama got you down?, October 23, 2010
This review is from: Girls' Life Guide To A Drama-Free Life (Paperback)
Drama got you down? The creators of Girls' Life Magazine have come up with a way to help with the "Guide to a Drama-Free Life." It's the go-to guide for how to deal with friends, school, boys, and more!
With chapters like "Figuring Out the Guys," "Stressin' Less at School," "Tackling the Tough Stuff" this book covers it all.
When it comes to guys and crushes, think about this:
"For one, it's important to note that some crushes, like celebs or your older bro's bandmate are unattainable and best admired from afar (let's face it, dating an 18-year-old when you're 14 is totally out of the question)."
Other than that, there are some great tips if you think your crush doesn't know you exist. Maybe you need to make the first move? Maybe you need to listen to him or - better yet - charm him! Think the cute dress is going to get him interested? Maybe at first, but what's going to keep him interested is your personality...so let it shine!
It's Friend Fixers that offers some good scoop. Do you have a friend who arrives at least a half hour late? (Turn to page 11.) She butts into your - and everyone else's - convos. (Turn to page 12). She's supercompetitive with you. (Turn to page 14). And the best part, there is a whole section on Toxic Friends. Is she a bad babe? Does she constantly cut you down? Did she "borrow" something weeks ago? Does she boss you around? (Read through pages 15-17).
The index at the back offers a breakdown of topics, with everything from Advice to Volunteering. There is also the section of "what your dad says and what he means" - very valuable!
