A Shout Out To The Force,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Girls Night Off [Explicit] (MP3 Download)
Cool tunes. My Pop listens to the songs before I can listen to them and since he let me write this, I guess its cool for kids, but check with the Folks before gettin it.

Clever Concept,
This review is from: Girls Night Off (Audio CD)
Girls Night Off I am unable to get the melody line of the song "If You Want Me" out of my head. This song has an 80's flair with an intoxicating melody line. The lyrics are very clever, and the song should do well on both radio and at clubs. This album seems to contain everything but the kitchen sink on it. The track- Mi Mambo Rico plays well, and combines an Afro-Cuban beat with electronic drums that helps drive the syncopated rhythm. The song Girls Night Off (also title of album) has a unique theme, and derives its style from the skru (screw) music made famous out of Houston (there is a very entertaining video of the same name on YouTube). I heard the song "Do You Like My Body" on the radio, and this song is a bit "girlie" for my tastes, but should do well at the "South Beach" style clubs. The song Reinvention is also a potential heavy play, and is well done, as is For Momma. All in all it is fresh, and deserves some attention. I downloaded the tracks, but plan to buy the actual CD to hear several tracks that are not compressed for MP.3 on an actual CD player instead of my ipod. Big speakers, and a great amp are the only way to truly enjoy great tunes. I gave it 5 stars because I really liked several of the songs. If it were not a compilation, I would have probably given it 4 stars because it is very good, but not "great." I should also mention that several of the songs are in Spanish. I do not speak spanish, so I did not appreciate them as much as someone that speaks spanish would appreciate them. I will guess that they included Spanish tracks on the CD to also cover the Latin market. I could have done without them (The Mambo Rico Song has both Spanish and English Lyrics).
