For Christina Ricci, golf has been a mission. She determined that she was going to drop to a single digit handicap from a thirty within five years. She accomplished that ambitious goal, dropping to a five handicap in five years, through passion and commitment. Since then, Christina continues to strive for her new goals, but has an even greater mission: to share the valuable lessons she has learned along her journey.
Her top-selling book, A Girl's On-Course Survival Guide to Golf(tm) has become a staple for women amateur golfers all over the world. With her new Guide, Reach Your Goals Survival Guide to Golf, Christina is offering the same engaging format and hands-on, realistic approach, to men and women of all levels.
Christina's new goal is to drop to a scratch. Follow along the course with her and share the decision-making process, mindset, and techniques as she works on her game. At the same time, work on your individual goals for improving your game. As Christina has discovered, these same strategies offer rewards far beyond the course.
She currently has a 3.2 handicap and tournament wins under her belt. Originally from Boston, Christina now splits her time between Boston and Miami.
I have been "playing" golf since high school, taking lessons here and there and playing occasionally. I've always been intimidated to play with men, I've just never given the details of playing the focus that it needed. Now all of that has changed with this book!! I have a new passion for it, and the book has really helped me focus on all of the aspects that I can improve easily. I find myself leafing through the book at night, practicing the shot or grip just the way it is so clearly illustrated in the book. And I love the focus on women's play, which is really specific. It's really fun to read and gets me excited about going out and practicing on the course. And the book is the perfect size to take on course and so easy to reference throughout a round. One of the best how-to sports books I've read!! It's a fantastic tool.
My 10 year old daughter has discovered the wonderful world of golf. She is a very good player. We got her this book for Christmas and she loves it. I think that it is helpful for her to see the wrong way and then the right way to stand and swing. To actually see it on paper is a great benefit. Thank you Christina Ricci for writing this book.
I highly recommend this book to those who are struggling to improve or who know they can be better -- just can't afford the fees of a pro! I have already shaved five strokes off my handicap and am doing better every time I play -- keep the book on your night stand at night and your bag on the course.
I like the easy to follow instructions, photos and humor in this book. I followed many of the "driving" instructions and have seen lower scores! There is a lot of information in the book and I would recommend it to anyone who is a beginning golfer, or has golfed for a while and needs some help.
Just loved this book and bought it for my golf partner. We used the suggested distances, read about uphill and downhill lies and just are having a great time referring to "the book."
Good book for the ladies who are just learning to play with pictures of good form, strategy, and most important etiquette. They ladies who have played for years but really also play 1-3 times a year and need a refresher.
