I love how this book is full of excellent advice that I can read whenever I'm feeling confused or depressed. I am a big fan of Carol Weston's "Dear Carol" column in Girls' Life magazine (and also of her novels) so it's really cool to have her best advice in one book. She also quotes a ton of my favorite musicians, actors, and other writers. Basically, thanks to FOR GIRLS ONLY, even if I've already talked to my mom and best friend about a problem, I still have another place to go for good advice or just to get me motivated to get my work done or try to meet new people or whatever. FOR GIRLS ONLY is FOR YOU!!!

This beautifully written book is never too far from my daughter's bedside. Except when I have it! It's chalk full of practical advice and ispirational ideas. If you read it through, I guarantee you'll feel uplifted and empowered to tackle the world. My 10 year old turns to this book to browse when she's in between novels or when she needs specific advice. When friends are over, they pore over the "love" and "friendship" chapters, and it has saved her on homework assignments requiring quotes! She especially loves the blank pages at the end of the book where she is moved to record her own pearls of wisdom. I love that she'll look back at them someday. What a treasure! ATTENTION MOMS AND DADS! If you need help for that crucial, life changing pep talk - USE THIS BOOK! It's an invaluable tool for finding the right words for boosting a low self esteem moment, getting over a homework hump, managing an allowance crisis, or enriching a positive experience.

Whenever I need inspiration or encouragement or a peptalk or just some sensible advice, I open this book to any page, read for a few minutes, and feel lighter and better. GREAT FOR ANY AGE!!! GET A COPY! You'll be glad you did!!!

My ten year old loved this book but so did my fifteen year old and SO DO I! In fact the only problem we have with this book is that it's hard to keep track of who has it. We have to buy another!

attention all girls ages ten and up: READ THIS BOOK! I can't tell you how much it has hepled me develop confidence, love myself, be proud to be different, treat my friends and family better, I could on and on! i can't understand how Carol understands us adolescents so well! her advice isn't boring and lecturish, but makes you think "You know, I could do what she's saying. I COULD improve myself and enjoy life." The quotes are awesome and very inspiring. This wealth of powerful information is worth it. BUY IT! At least read it. you'll want to read it over and over.

I just finished reading this awesome book a few days ago, and immmediately sent the author a thank you email for what a great job she did! Not only did she do a great job of incorportating quotes from men and women, old and young, past and present, and all religions, but I came away feeling inspired and ready to take on the world! A perfect book for any girl!

When it is good (and beautifully written) advice is something you can never get enough of, and For Girls Only is proof. Weston combines her own always-accurate, thoughtful, and humorous words of wisdom with those of famous writers, philosophers, entertainers, politicians, and more. The result is a book which page by page offers truly inspiring quotes and passages to comfort any girl, at any stage of life.

Purchased for my 13year old God-daughter. I was happy with the lay out of the book but somehow I don't think it was really directed to young teens. She read the book (she would read anything!!!) but I don't think her questions as a young girl were addressed. I don't know, maybe it's the style of writing, but this is not for everyone.
Be sure to "look inside" and know whether or not it's suited for the person it is intended for.

Wise words, good advice...the subtitle really sums up this book. Carol Weston has written an inspiring read for all girls. I recommend it! Julia DeVillers, author of Girlwise: How to Be Confident, Capable, Cool and In Control

It had good advice on friendship, life, and love (tee hee!) I've gotten a better perspective on life and I've used some of the advice for my friends. By the way, Reader from California, I'M 10! :)
