5.0 out of 5 stars The Big Wheel
I am very happy about the Big Wheel however it was given as a gift for Christmas .I need more time to give an opinion on it but looks like great fun.
I had a problem on having a missing part but the problem was resolved in record breaking speed thanks to Eva who worked with me on getting all I needed. She was the very best in solving my problem and being a people...

2.0 out of 5 stars Child must be at least 40 inches to ride
My child is 40 inches, and can barely reach the peddles. Make sure your kid is 40-41 inches at least to be able to ride. I wish I had known this instead of just 3-8 years old on the box.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed by this Flimsy, Hard-to-Assemble Toy, June 24, 2009

Several problems with assembly: I had to use a cordless drill to bore out plastic left over from the molding process that was preventing me from attaching the rear axle; As others have mentioned, the pedals have been impossible to assemble correctly as the crude washer blocks the axle as it tries to fit into the pedal (you'll see what I mean if you're unfortunate enough to buy one); and the small fittings that attach to the fork and hug the big wheel had no pilot holes for the screws, once again necessitating the cordless drill.
It's flimsy, as well. Even though my daughter can't use the pedals because they're still screwed up because of the washer, as she pushes it along with her feet the front wheel--aka Big Wheel--is loosening from the pedals because of the shoddy way they have you put it together. I'm getting different washers for the pedals and will try them, but at this point I can't recommend this incarnation of the Big Wheel. I guess the secret craft of the Ancients regarding Big Wheel construction was lost in the late 70s, and now we're left with this crappy, cobbled together imitation.

1.0 out of 5 stars disappointed, March 22, 2009

[...]. Even though this product is held out as"the original big wheel", it is no where near as sturdy or as fun. I have a three year old and a six year old. The peddles are too far for the 3 yr old, but I dont think that really matters since my six year old could barely get it to move. The front wheel constantly slips, and makes it impossimle to peddle over a hairline crack in the pavement. After 2two hours, the toy was a mishaped piece of plastic, with the fork bent, the handle bars drooping, and the back falling off of the seat. I wish that I could claim this experience as an aberration, but I have assembled two of these (too much infor for this review). [...].

1.0 out of 5 stars Broken in a few hours, May 1, 2009

My young 3 year old bent the plastic on this afer a few hours of play. This is an absolute piece of junk that is made with VERY thin plastic. I took it back immediately. In addition, very difficult to assemble and I had to replace 2 metal pieces that broken when putting together. It is SHOCKING that they can get away with producing something that is this poorly made. My 30 pound daughter bent the fork on the bike when she turned the handle bars backwards. The plastic is so thin that the fork bent in on itself. It was literally an hour or so after I put it together. UNBELIEVABLE. I hope no one else buys this and has a dissapointed daughter.

The first time I purchased this it did not have the hardware. The second time, the plastic in the rear wheels was not punched thru so it was impossible to put the axle through the wheels. Not much fun with only 1 wheel! I will be returning it for a refund and looking for a different maker of a similar product. HORRIBLE!

3.0 out of 5 stars My granddaughter loves hers!, September 29, 2010

We got this Big Wheel for our granddaughter's 4th birthday and she loves it so much that she has worn it out! We need to buy a new front wheel. It was easy to put together. (My husband did it - but I watched!) This may be true for other big wheels, I don't know, but the front wheel does slip quite a bit when she tries to take off. Tonight I am on line to buy a new front wheel. I think I am going to have to buy my 4 year old grandson one (NOT PINK, of course!). They fight over it. I sure don't remember paying $$$ this much for one, though!

My granddaughter likes her Princess Big Wheel OK, but she loves her baby brother's First Big Wheel much better. The First Big Wheel was purchased already assembled from the factory and is much stronger and better made. If the Princess big wheel were factory assembled instead of pieces put together by inept parents and grandparents, I believe a better product would be had. Our Princess Big Wheel that we ordered, the pedal keeps falling off, and we find it lying everywhere. The Big Wheel in the front is extremely wobbly, and looks like it could just fall off at any time. This is not like the Big Wheels my children had growing up and rode day and night, which is really sad. I wanted my grandchildren to experience the pleasure of owning a Big Wheel. This one is disappointing. Even my 4 year old granddaughter can tell the difference in sturdiness and quality. She says the small one is "better."

The hardware bag was left out of the box. The process for having a replacement sent was long and difficult. Be prepared to spend an extra six bucks just to have all the parts needed to put it together. I would also suggest putting it together well before hand (a week or two) so you have enough time to order the parts needed to put it together in the event they were not included.
