From School Library Journal

Grade 6-9-In the third book in the series, Ellie, 13, meets the boy of her dreams and learns that love isn't always what makes the world go round. Her feelings for Russell cause her to make some wrong choices and the consequences make her miserable. Then, Ellie and her two best friends, Nadine and Magda, get tickets to a rock concert, but their plans for a girls' night out fall apart when the concert is cancelled. They wind up in a strange house in a dangerous part of London with some shady boys who want them to drink, smoke dope, and make out. The girls escape, but not without taking risks that could have cost them their lives. The teens continually lie to their parents to cover up where they are and with whom, and when they get caught, they do not take their punishment seriously. They show disrespect to their parents, teachers, and other students in the pursuit of what they want and, for the most part, they get it. However, the author does a good job portraying the angst of teen love and the importance of best friends. This formula teen romance, complete with British slang and lingo, will be a popular, quick read, but there is not much depth of character or plot.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Interesting and romantic short story, March 7, 2001
By
This book is great! I loved it very much and I only spent 4 days to finish reading it. It's about 3 teen girls-Ellie,Nadine and Magda who are best friends. Ellie is plain but her 2 friends are much more prettier. However, Russell thinks she's speecial and madly falls in love with Ellie. They stay out very late at the first night they meet and they both get into trouble afterwards because their parents don't let them to stay out so late. So, they begin to have little dates after school everyday...and go home before night. This funny story is very easy to read and realistic, with the narrator of Ellie herself, a thirteen-year-old schoolgirl. I would recommend it to every teen girls. Don't hesistate to buy it!!! Also read <Girls Under Pressure> and <The Illustracted Mum>, they are dead hilarious too! :-)

2.0 out of 5 stars Bad influence--- Bad girls, November 20, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Girls Out Late (Mass Market Paperback)

Hi. I'm Kristal and I'm almost fourteen. I live in the U.S.A and when i read this book not to long ago, I was shocked.

This book contains a lot of innapropriate scenes. At one point, these three idiot girls hop into a car with three older male strangers. this may give girls the impression that it's ok to go with a stranger. Also, These gitls are foutreen and thirteen and they are dating 17-20 year olds. In america, it is illegal but in U.K i guess they aren't bothered one bit.
Bottom line, i wouldn't recomend this book to anyone.Jacqueline is obviously not a mother and has no clue how much danger a young girl coud get into, following these retarted girls.

All though, it is realistic and funy so i had to give it props. The other book, GIRLS UNDER PRESSURE was so incredibly wack.
