Grade 4-7 - Pressures and fears can have a crippling effect on young people, and this book presents "fun ways to relax, de-stress, feel great about yourself, and celebrate the person you are." The pages are nicely formatted and include full-color photographs and illustrations. The recipes for the various spa treatments (including "Bath Soaking Salts," "Luscious Lip Gloss," and "Fancy Foot Scrub") are clearly laid out with easy-to-follow, step-by-step directions. A helpful spread provides photos and descriptions of the ingredients used. Most can be found in grocery or drug stores, while a few may require a trip to the health-food store. The authors provide important allergy information as well as warnings when adult supervision is needed. Quotes from real girls are scattered throughout the text for inspiration and for mediation. This book is a dream come true for those who want to know how to get that spa-feeling at home. Not everyone can go out to a spa, and even those who do, often like to repeat those delicious spa treatments in their own environment. Mary Wallace has defined many terrific ways to do that without needing lots of expensive gdgets and do-dads.
