My daughter was so excited to get this umbrella. We took one walk with it outside (in bright sunshine), put it away when we got home, and the next morning when my daughter opened it again, it was broken. The umbrella was treated very carefully; there was no reason it should have been broken the very next morning. The only reason for breakage I was able to determine was simply that this umbrella is made out of extremely cheap, inferior materials. Don't waste your money on it.

We purchased the kitty umbrella for my youngest daughter and the ladybug for my oldest (both Western Chief). Both umbrella's were broken after 2-3 uses. Both daughters loved the umbrellas and took special care of them but the materials are so cheap. The frame is poorly made with very weak construction. Don't waste your money on this brand -- your little one will be so disappointed when it breaks, and it will (quickly).

The metal spoke broke the second time we used the umbrella. I read other reviews like this, but thought we would be gentle with our umbrella and it would be ok. well, we were so careful and it broke anyway. very very breakable for some reason. I was able to fix it by threading wire through to hold the spoke in place, but for this price it should be MUCH more sturdy.

We had similar experience as last reviewer. Our daughter loved it and couldn't wait for it to rain but upon opening it the second time after normal usage one of the metal rods had broken inside and hung down making it no longer safe so we had to throw it away. We do not recommend buying this one.

This was a birthday present for my 4 yr old granddaughter. She paraded around all day with that umbrella waiting for rain so she could use it with the matching raincoat and rain boots that she already owned. It is adorable!!! I couldn't find this umbrella anywhere so I was excited when I found it on Amazon.com.
