This is a very light and a durable helmet.

I think Giro did a good new concept helmet that at first look silly and out of place, but I like it and you will probably too.

The air really got sucked in and kept my head cool on this 76 degree morning in Southern Cal.

So I got this helmet from Giro (over the phone. Called giro to thank them for the prolights ability to save my life) after needing to replace my giro prolight helmet. I loved the prolight because it didn't have the roc lock system which I had bad experiences with not from giro but with the cannondale teramo helmet (cannondales lock dial broke on me twice!). So when I lost this helmet (the giro prolight) I called giro to thank them because it really saved my skin, which they then informed me of a 30% off crash replacement option they have. The only thing was they couldn't refund it if I wasn't happy. So I did my hw and went to my LBS where they recommended the air attack shield. I have to wear glasses and have also bought oakleys so I didn't want the shield so I went with this lovely thing. I would have loved all black (it can go with anything) but they didn't have that one available so I asked about the Black Red version. They had it in my size and I bought it. It came in relatively fast and was waiting ffor me to be healed up and ready to ride. I took it out today 8/23/13 and instantly felt how refreshing it was compared to my prolight. The air really got sucked in and kept my head cool on this 76 degree morning in Southern Cal. It's also very light weight. My only complaint is that my head is slightly small for a large but too big for a medium (mediums tend to place pressure on the side of my head and larges require me to be too tight on the locking system) but i'm happy nonetheless.

Bottom line: this helmet looks odd at first but it is the most fantastic thing I've worn so far. It matches my bike, my jerseys, my commuting bag (on days I commute instead of train). I absolutely love it and highly recommend it! It almost has me feeling safer with the lack of vents on it. Buy this helmet!

This is a very light and a durable helmet. Also the design of this helmet is very nice compared to the conventional road bike helmet. After using it for awhile, the helmet is very comfortable and even for its closed design, it still keeps you cool. Plus you look cool as well. I dropped the helmet a few times but the shell is very durable and it holds well with scratches. I bought the black so it easily hides and scruff marks. Is it worth the price? Maybe not. But if you have some money to spend, it is a worthy buy.

I bought the helmet because I saw where the Giro Air Attack Helmet was very high in the helmet count at Kona and had great reviews for comfort. I also saw where adding aero bars and an aero helmet are some of the most significant changes you can make to a road bike to get free power by increasing your aerodynamics. I however had no idea that I was going to test the Air Attack's protective abilities. On a 40 mile group ride I lost control of my bike and crashed landing on my head and left shoulder. A very experienced 65 year old bike rider in the group told me he'd never seen someone hit as hard as I did in all his years of riding. (He started riding in his teens) The accident fractured my clavicle and several ribs. I was knocked unconscious when I hit the ground but quickly came to with lots of pain. I don't mean to be overly dramatic but I'm not sure I'd be here today if I didn't have a good helmet on. I immediately have purchased another Giro Air Attack Helmet. Obviously I'll never know how much the helmet protected my noggin but I'm happy to have my health coming back (At the time of this writing it's been 8 weeks since the accident) and very thankful to Giro for making a quality product. Rode a 30.4 mile ride today!

Great helmet; lightweight, great fit and adjustability. I read in another review that you'd have to get used to looking funny in it. I think that was actually surprisingly true for me, the lack of vents makes it look a little weirder than I expected it to. At this point though I like it.

The air does vent well throughout the helmet but keep in mind if you have a black helmet in a place with a lot of sun it will still heat up. With my old mountain bike helmet I would scratch itches through the vent holes...this helmet doesn't allow that so if it's a bad itch you might have to take the helmet off.

i love the helmet. i think the main concern of the helmet is ventilation and there's enough even on very hot days. yes, some sweat will drip down from my head to my cheeks, but it's not a major thing. i had issue recently wear my shades would fog up, but i think that was more to do with how humid it was that day.

all is all. i love the helmet.

This is my third Giro Bicycle helmet in 40 years of riding. I ordered it because I like the style and many of my friends have one.
It is very well constructed and Medium fit me perfectly. Very comfortable and a tweak of the Locking Knob fine tunes the fit. It is so comfortable you forget you have it on. Lots of air circulation, and even on warm days, sweating is not an issue. The strap system is very comfortable and neither straps nor helmet block view or rub ears.
I purchased my helmet from AMAZON, and price delivered was the best anywhere.
Very pleased.
Highly recommended.

Love the helmet. I'm new to triathlons and have only owned one previous bike helmet which was also a Giro of some sort. I'm sure there are many comparable helmets out there which are less expensive but when it's time to purchase another helmet, I will most likely pick up another Giro.
