5.0 out of 5 stars Great Light Weight Helmet
OK, so I grew up skiing since the age of 5 and for 30 years, I never once protected my head, other than a hat. I was skeptical to ski with a helmet until my older brother convinced me of it. I have now skied with the Giro Fuse a few times and love it. It's remarkably light weight and adds a level of warmth and feeling of security that I didn't anticipate. When I was...

Like the helmet - light weight, comfortable, both warm and cool, but I found out that the way the hard plastic shell wraps around the foam at the rim leaves no padding to a forehead impact. A face plant on a groomer left me with a huge goose egg and a spectacular black eye. Probably would not have had any problems with no helmet at all, but the Fuse concentrated the...

When I was younger, I had several close calls that in hindsight could have resulted in serious head injuries. I think that ski resorts should offer ticket discounts for those who wear helmets. A must have for anyone who values their cranium. A++

4.0 out of 5 stars Giro Fuse Helmet Review, May 6, 2007

This is one of the best helmets out there. It is very light, yet durable and has a handy ventilation system that can be opened or closed with one switch. This is perfect for varying temperature conditions. when it is hot, just click over the switch to open the vents and as you ride, the wind will cool your head down adequately.

This is a nice helmet. Works as advertised. Fortunately, I haven't had an accident that really 'test' its protection features..but it looks good, fits well and is comfortable. I like the air vents and the easy access to open/close those vents.

I see lots of people wearing helmets..that is a good thing

I love the Giro Fuse helmet. It is so light you can barely tell you're wearing anything on your head. It also keeps your head very warm.

5.0 out of 5 stars Giro Fuse Helmet, March 16, 2009

Loved the Helmet. Comfortable on the sunny days, and the cold days. The adjustability was great for the vents and the fit of the helmet.

I received it the day before I left on my trip, and used it six days straight. I was a little nervous that it would not arrive in time, but it made it.

I researched which helmet I wanted, and knew this was it. Got the helmet and the Bluetooth stereo earpads, from Amazon, for about half the price of most retailers.

This is a great helmet especially the way the vents are managed. But unfortunately it's been discontinued so grab this one up while you can!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Helmet, January 10, 2010

I purchased this helmet for my wife. She is on the slopes 3 to 4 times a week and I was concerned about other less experienced people causing an accident. First we went to several stores and could not find the style she liked in her size (large). Amazon offered the style, color and brand with easy open vents.

She was reluctant to wear a helmet at first so it took some time to talk her in to it. Now she loves it. She reports it is light weight, fits well and is comfortable. She wears it very time she hits the slopes. In cold weather she uses a baklava under the helmet. The easy open vents should add to comfort in the spring time.

Best of all I worry less about her safety on the slopes.

This is the first year I wore a helmet and I can say that this helmet rocks...it keeps your head warm and it is very light...skiing out west (Park City) was a ton of fun and this helmet was great all the way around...Giro helmets are great...get one!

A face plant on a groomer left me with a huge goose egg and a spectacular black eye.
