This mountain-bike helmet is constructed with in-mold technology that fuses a tough outer microshell to the helmet's EPS foam liner. The fusion process reinforces areas around vents and ribs, making the helmet lighter, cooler and tougher.

The Havoc utilizes Giro's Roc Loc 3 system, which includes tensioning and positioning adjustments, plus variable-fit belt anchor points for a truly custom fit and feel. This Giro helmet features 27 vents that allow cool, fresh air in and stale, warm air out, as well as a snap-fit visor. The Havoc mountain helmet comes in three Super Fit sizes, which combine human scale factor data with handcrafted headforms and rider feedback for ultimate comfort. Giro's Havoc helmet is a lightweight 295 grams, and complies with U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's safety standards for bicycle helmets.

About Giro
Working late nights in his garage, designer/bike racer Jim Gentes created the first lightweight adult cycling helmet in 1985. I've been mountain biking as a hobby for a couple years and this helmet was my second serious helmet purchase.

Pros:

Looks good

Adjustable head strap in back

Comfortable

Cons:

Chin straps sit a little funny under the ears

I've had my Havoc for two years. It fits great and is easily adjusted on the fly with one hand. I tried on all kinds of helmets from $50 up to $150 and the Havoc was the winner when it came down to price and performance.

Sadly I have to retire my helmet today. I had a pretty bad mountain bike crash and broke the helmet in two places. But I came out of the crash with no head injuries so I have to give it 5 stars for protection.

Comfortable, good fit. Great ventalation. I feel like in a crash my brain will be at least somewhat protected.
