I was at a friend's house today and she was showing off this book. It was so cute I ended up looking at the entire book. I don't have any kids or grandkids so it wasn't for them, just for the pure enjoyment of it. The dog is adorable and the creative use of color is simply joyful. I hope the author will continue down this road...she has quite a skill for creating whimsical, entertaining, and visually appealing learning materials!

A multifacted gem of a book. The educational value is immediately noticed in language and art. A closer look reveals a myriad of learning opportunities in other areas as well. The illustrations surrounding the rhyme on each page lead to the exploration of their significance beyond name and color.

Gisselle is a beautiful, photogenic and alluring guide into a magical world filled with possibilities: travel to faraway places, take a stroll among the flowers on a sunny day, visit a marine paradise and so much more. Gisselle has the kind of expressive face that one falls in love with at first sight; little ones will form an instant bond.

This book will provide hours of activities and enchantment for children and delight parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles with its impeccable photography, catchy rhymes and endless possibilities. Worthy of a Caldecott.

The title of this book is a TRUE description. An added title enhancement might be Gisselle's BEAUTIFUL Adventures in Color.
This fabulous book was put together with great photography (might add creative). The cute graphics enhance the idea of color in the little one's minds with items to look for and compare to in everyday life.
What a FUN book. I would recommend it as a gift for any child in the family, any dog lover or anyone who enjoys bright, fun colors with fun whimsical poetry thrown in as an added bonus.

Photography is so Clara - superb! I can't think of a more fun way to teach colors to a child. Perfect for those of us who have loved and followed Gisselle and Lillibeth. How lucky am I to have an autographed copy! I treasure it!

After purchasing this book I ended up ordering more as gifts. So much attention has been paid to the writing of and the quality in producing "Gisselle's Adventures in Color" not seen in books in general today.

Wanting to know more, I have corresponded with both Clara J del Valle, the owner and photographer of Gisselle and Designer and writer, Heidi L.Ames.

Gisselle is a real and living Bearded Collie the paw prints in the front of this book are the real paw prints of beardie Gisselle and her family ( sister if you will ) Lilibeth, a West Highland terrier who makes cameo appearances through out this book. Also, Buttons, bunny of the author can be found making an appearance too.

Having opportunity to read other reviews on this book, I'm not surprised that Gisselle's Adventures in Color has gained much popularity with those that teach young minds to value and appreciate a well written - attention to details, quality book that will last through their lifetime,
entertaining generations to come.

I recommend "Gisselle's Adventures in Color" to parents and teachers looking for a introductory book into the world of reading and imagination that good books bring to those that become better then average students.

I found this to be such a lovely children's book. It is a book that will appeal to children of various ages. The photographs are beautiful. The book has adventure, beauty, humor and educational value. It has enough details to interest the child and is a book that they will want to read again and again--discovering new things each time it's read. Especially nice is the color fun section at the end. The language is inviting and well suited to children. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would highly recommend it for that special child in your life.

Beautiful pictures complemented with wonderful verses introduce young readers to a spectacular world of color. Giselle, a stunning bearded collie, and her "sister," lilibeth, a West Highland White Terrier, offer a tour of the palette far more intriguing than simply primary colors. Pink, purple, silver and gold, and other colors make appearances in this engaging book. It's a must for every grandparent and parent, preschool and day care interested in opening the visual world. The purple page is my favorite! No library is complete without Giselle's Adventures in Color.

What a lovely surprise this book is -- a must for every little child's bookshelf. Bright & engaging, wonderful photography!
