I saw there were no reviews so figured I should put out a PSA to Gitzo owners. This is a good strap and fairly comfortable [for a tripod strap] so nothing bad to say about it... HOWEVER... be forewarned that it is designed for tripods w/ center column. If you have a Systematic like me that just has the flat plate, there is nothing to hook the top loop on to! I managed to wrangle it onto my head [Acratech GP] but the loop is pretty small so most heads [RRS, etc] would not fit. The Acratech just happened to be cut in a certain way that it would work.

If you have the rapid center column, you're golden. The loop fits right below the lock for the column height.

This is a nice and reliable tripod strap. I have used it with me travelling around the world, hiking in the bush, climbing mountains etc. The velcro is reliable. It is slightly tricky to tighten the strap that goes around the legs but even when it's not tight it's secure enough. On mine, after several years of use, the fabric under the shoulder pad has worn off showing the foam pad underneath. It does not affect its functionality and it still works well.

I bought this so that I could carry my Gitzo lightweight traveller tripod on my back while walking around Paris shooting for two days. I can't imagine using it with a full size tripod but it worked well with the Traveller series. It was a little clunky in terms of how it attached but once I got the feel for it I felt it did the job well for the price point.

If you are doing urban or landscape photography this is an item that you must have if you use your tripod. The strap is wonderful but be sure to read the instructions that comes with the strap before you frustrate yourself with the installation. Once you read the instructions it is easy as 1-2-3 to place on the tripod.

A very effective way of carrying a tripod out in the field. As others have stated, your tripod requires a center colum for this strap to work and, oh yeah, read the instructions before trying to attach it.

It works on all brands and you don't need to buy a tripod bag anymore.
