WOW! This is probably the best blend I have ever heard out of the Gaither Vocal Band. Wes Hampton isn't a power tenor like David Phelps, but his voice fills the role very well (Especially on "I'll Tell It Wherever I Go"). The sound is very different than past Vocal Bands, but will not be disappointing.

refreshing,

Two new voices, many different styles, and, Heavens to Betsy, I could actually hear Bill Gaither singing the bass part. This album is a lot different from the monster tenor solos and almost invisible bass part like past albums. This revamped GVB features the BEST blend I have ever heard from this group. Marshall Hall is a true baritone with a great range, and Wes Hampton brings a 'Sam Cooke smootheness' to the group(especially on I'll Tell It Wherever I Go) and he brings the harmony to life. Overall, this album is refreshing in style and message and it is one for the ages.

I was very pleased with this CD. I bought it soon after seeing the Gaither Vocal Band in person at one of their Homecoming concerts where they had performed many of these songs. I believe that this is the first studio CD to include the newcomers, Wes Hampton (tenor) and Marshall Hall (baritone) and I agree with another reviewer that Hampton is an adequate replacement for David Phelps; not many could match the strength of Phelps' voice, making him a hard act to follow. But I have been impressed by the strength and quality of Marshall Hall's voice -- he blends well in the group's harmonies but he excels when he has a solo. I especially like "Child Forgiven" and "Give It Away" but there are 7 or 8 of these songs that I have put on the "favorites" list in my Ipod. Excellent, excellent CD!
