5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely Helpful!, October 6, 2007
By R Bond (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: How to Give a Good Deposition and Testify Well in Court (DVD)
I highly recommend this DVD to anyone having to face a deposition or courtroom appearance. I had to give a deposition for my employer. All the company attorney did to prepare me was say "Be there on time"! Big help that was . . . I immediately scoured the Web and Amazon for help - and this DVD is by far the best help available. It tells you pretty much everything on how to dress, how to handle yourself, how to speak and organize what you have to say so it comes out the way you want it to, even when you're being pushed by the opposing attorney. The tip sheet that's in with the DVD is also good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dr. Nelson Hits Another Winner Over the Fence, March 6, 2008
By Robert M. Pave "Trial Lawyer" (San Francisco, California) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: How to Give a Good Deposition and Testify Well in Court (DVD)
Mr. Bernhard's critical review is off the mark; makes one wonder about his experience level. As a trial lawyer in my 37th year of busy practice in Los Angeles and San Francisco, I can illustrate Dr. Nelson's results for me-- 1972-1992: 26 trials, half were losses, I never even knew what I was doing wrong; 1993-2008: 68 trials, zero losses, Dr. Nelson taught me what the Bar programs did not-- how to use my witnesses effectively and how to maximize my presentation and boost my clients' effect on juries. My defense firm, 5 trial lawyers, shows this DVD to every client and each witness we present at trial-- even our expert witnesses, who have testified at hundreds of trials. Dr. Nelson's DVD is one of our best secret weapons. This works!! Our clients/witnesses win our trials for us! This is the best witness training to come along. There's nothing improper or unethical about teaching a witness to be a more compelling and understandable participant at trial. You don't win at deposition, but a bad or poor deposition will cause you to lose a trial. That won't happen if you follow Dr. Nelson's advice on this powerful DVD. It has made a big difference for my firm and for our clients. Seeing is believing-- our results are the proof of Dr. Nelson's excellent guidance.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Real Winner! I highly recommend this book..., February 27, 2008
By Leslie Miller (Los Angeles, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: How to Give a Good Deposition and Testify Well in Court (DVD)
I got this DVD because it was recommended by my attorney. It really
saved me from making a total fool of myself on the stand during cross-
examination. I was surprised to read the reviewer who said the DVD was
about lying - I completely disagree. This DVD is all about helping
you get your truth across in a way other people can understand
clearly. It has nothing to do with deception. It's about keeping your
thoughts straight and being able to tell your story without letting a
whole bunch of emotion cloud the issues. A real winner!

1.0 out of 5 stars TOO BASIC FOR TESTIFYING DOCTORS
The description of this video is misleading. The content is for the layperson, not a professional, such as a doctor. It was too basic and too simple. What a waste of money.
