5.0 out of 5 stars JUST WHAT YOU'D EXPECT FROM JODI THOMAS.
SITLENT PARTNER:

As usual, Jodi Thomas didn't disappoint. Once again, she's written an amazing book. This story was well written, fast paced with characters you will fall in love with, as with all her books. Whenever I see a book by Jodi, I pick it up without a though.

LUCK OF THE DRAW:

This one was okay, but in my opinion, not...

1.0 out of 5 stars give me a cowboy
i have to agree with kathykindlelover i think we read the same book. i don't know what the other readers read. all the stories seemed to be written by the same person. the only reason i finished the book was because i thought the stories had to get better but they all proved to be boring. won't waste my time with another book by these writers.

TEXAS TEMPEST:

This one was nothing short of amazing! This is the second book I've read by, Linda Broday, the other being the preceding book, Give Me A Texan. I would put her writing right up there with, Jodi Thomas...she's that good. This story was wonderfully written. I'm an aspiring writer, and was flabbergasted by all the great lines she delivered. The story was fast paces, a great idea, with wonderful characters.

ROPING THE WIND:

Another great story. I also liked her last story she wrote in, Give Me A Texan. I caught myself often smiling because of the great lines she delivered. Great story, well written, with wonderful characters.

Don't miss out on these great stories, written by talented authors.

5.0 out of 5 stars four wonderful western romance novellas, February 3, 2009
This review is from: Give Me A Cowboy (Paperback)
"Silent Partner" by Jodi Thomas. After time in prison, Rowdy Darnell comes home to Kasota Springs planning to earn some money in the rodeo. However, he needs the fee to be paid to enter so seeks a silent partner as no one would want to publicly bankroll a felon. Laurel Hayes wants nothing to do with the convict she once considered a friend, but their kisses speak otherwise. A charmer

"Luck of the Draw" by DeWanna Pace. They reunite at the Kasota Springs rodeo, but Dally Angelo must conquer the bull who killed his father and "Gus" Garrison must reveal a secret to him that she fears will send him running away before they can consider a second chance at love. Heartwarming

"Texas Tempest" by Linda Broday. Rancher Tempest LeDoux comes to the Kasota Springs rodeo seeking husband Numero 6. Gunfighter McKenna Smith comes to town only to be wanted by Tempest. Somehow she has out gunned the gunfighter or why else would he participate in a rodeo. Exciting

"Roping the Wind" by Phyliss Miranda. Undercover Pinkerton agent Morgan Payne is in Kasota Springs during the rodeo seeking to catch cattle rustlers. However the detective is distracted by kick-butt tomboy Alaine LeDoux who considers him a citified suit and would not suit with her except for those kisses. Adorable

The follow-up western romance anthology to GIVE ME A TEXAN (not read by me) contains four wonderful novellas that occur in the summer of 1890 in Kasota Springs. Each tale stars delightful lead characters who provide different perspective to the same event. Sub-genre fans will appreciate this fabulous compilation insisting like the heroines the authors GIVE ME A COWBOY.

5.0 out of 5 stars Give Me A Cowboy, April 6, 2009
This review is from: Give Me A Cowboy (Paperback)
Give Me A Cowboy reunites authors, Jodi Thomas, DeWanna Pace, Linda Broday, and Phyliss Miranda to write another great group of stories set in the old West. Besides being captivating stories, the research they've compiled make them compelling reads. I stayed up four nights reading, after forcing myself to stop after each one. I'm eagerly awaiting the next book they plan to write.

1.0 out of 5 stars disapointinly short, July 24, 2011

This review is from: Give Me A Cowboy (Paperback)
I am still struggling to complete this compilation of short stories that all seem to take place in the same dusty Texas town. While the characters are sometimes very interesting and could easily stand on their own in a longer read, the way that the stories are cut short makes me lose interest in them. Take for instance the first titled story where the heroine finally gets her man. A great read up to the part where the writer explains the rest of their lives and buries them all within a page or two. What follows after that disappointment is more of the same without the benefit of a good writer. I believe these stories would do much better on their own. I will be avoiding these compilations in the future.

4.0 out of 5 stars stories of Texas cowboys, June 9, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I enjoyed the story of Rowdy and the rodeo, the clowns and the important job they do during the rodeo. The love interest had some twists that were unexpected. Lots of excitement, and different story lines within one book.
