This small, hardback book offers inspirational, out of the box ideas of how to have a better Christmas. It is a quick and easy read - I sat and read it while waiting for my daughter at choir practice. You may want to dog ear pages or highlight suggestions as you go.

It didn't take me long to read one that really hit home for me. #4 is "Write a Letter". The author encourages you to write a real letter, not text message or email, but an old-fashioned pen and paper letter to tell someone how much they mean to you. His mentions that after his grandmother passed away, he regretted that he didn't write her often enough when her health was fading. As I read this one, my eyes welled up. My husband's grandmother has been in the hospital ICU this last week with heart trouble. And now that she's been released and is at home resting, sending her a heartfelt letter has become very important to my husband.

There are many beautiful ideas that work for our families, coworkers, friends and kids of all ages. And the ideas will work not just for Christmas. I found myself taking notes of things to incorporate into our lives year round.

I really want to pass this book on to others so they can share in the wonderful ideas. While preparing for Christmas is months away, a copy of this book will not only get you ahead of the game for next Christmas, but help you find many beautiful ideas of how to Give Christmas Away all year round. Was good to read a book that wasn't 'self' obsessed, but thought about others. Lots of the ideas would be good to incorporate all year round.

101 Simple & Thoughtful Ways to Give This Christmas Away by Matthew West is a delightful little book full of ideas to make this Christmas different from any you've had before. Some simple (hold a door open for someone), some a little more intense (forgive....), and some downright fun (give yourself a silent night). Okay, I've shared three of them with you but I didn't share the explanations that go along with them, and there are still another 98 for you to discover on your own. This is a great little book that I recommend for anyone who is looking for something different this year, for something more.

The Christmas season can become rushed and difficult and it's easy to lose sight of why we celebrate December 25th. This devotional style book gives the reader 101 ways to give Christmas back to the world!

Some of the ideas are simple...make a coupon book with things that are inexpensive and thoughtful, but still very valuable to the receiver. Some ideas require us to consider what we really need and practice sacrafice...cross off the big ticket item on your list if you can look at it and realize that it isn't really a necessity. Maybe a charitable donation is more pleasing to the Lord.

One of my favorite entries is to lose your cool! Set aside your quest for being cool and go caroling with friends...and have a blast doing it! You can even carol over the phone! I like this one because I'm one of those goofy people that likes to sing happy birthday over the phone to unsuspecting people celebrating another year of their life. I don't even care if I sound off key, and I know that it makes people smile on the receiving end. Lose your cool!

This book has many simple ideas that adults and kids can do together. It might be a neat way of challenging each other during the Christmas season.

Every year, people get caught up in the commercial sensationalim of Christmas and forget the true meaning of it. It's sometimes understandable as the reason for Christmas is wanting to be dismissed yet the opportunity to take off days is still wanted. Instead of worrying about rushing around and getting something for that special person, take a break, pick up this small but impactful book and enjoy!

This book, as the title states, provides you 101 ways to do something special, something unselfish and something that will bring a new meaning to giving. Little things such as holding the door, buying a cup of coffee for the person behind you or reconnecting with old friends or loved ones will bring you joy ... priceless joy.

What I like about Mr. West's suggestions for doing something that is impactful in different ways are his abilities to add personal experiences with each story suggestion as well as the inclusion of a verse from the Bible.

Mr. West is a recording artist and an accomplished songwrite who has released three albums since 2002. This is an extraordinary book by an extraordinary man and a must have for anyone. The other bonus to this wonderful book is the size. It can easily be a stocking stuffer and wrapped up with many possible options to make it the most memorable gift for that special someone.

What a great way to embrace the Season of Christmas! This little book is a powerful resource for individuals and families to have and use during the Christmas Season and all throughout the year. It will motivate and inspire children and adults alike!

Christmas should be more than just receiving presents....it should be more about the blessing in giving. God gave us His Only Son thereby showing us that we really should give. Make this Christmas different...not as materialistic as the others.

A lot of the ideas in the book are things that the whole family can be involved in. I am looking forward to teaching my kids how to give from their heart. I want them to see that a gift doesn't necessarily have to be something that you buy, but it's the thought behind the gift that can make a difference. From shoveling a driveway to restoring broken friendships, West inspires readers to give from their heart the way the Lord would want us to give. The ideas that are given aren't just ways to give at Christmastime. Many of the things can be done for someone throughout the year. Read the book and see how the Lord can use you to make a difference in someone else's life this Christmas and the whole year through.
