Great Songs ..Ok album,

Good Debut. "Amongster," "Dark Star," and "Lay your cards out" are the highlights for me on this record. Great tunes that will find their way to mainstream and get stuck in your head. Gave it 3 stars because some of the songs I can do without and they tend to blend together. Also, as I played the album for the third time found myself growing tired of some of the sounds of the lead vocals and lack of power of the album. If you are into Phantogram, Purity Ring, or spacey-glam-synth beats with a female singer, you will like this album. I have a feeling this is a band that is much better live and their true sound didn't transform as well as it could into a studio recording.

We saw Polica at 1st Avenue, and got the CD today. A spectacular and very cool soundscape. Not quite like anything else.

Lots Of Potential Ruined By Autotune,

This review is from: Give You The Ghost (Audio CD)
This album has a lot going for it but what it does not have going for it ruins the party. The trance like music is easy to get lost in and for the most part is very enjoyable even if some of the tracks blend together. The singer is more than capable of sounding interesting and complimenting the music but for some odd reason they have decided to autotune the vocals to death. This makes the album sound cheap and loses the human touch. I thought we were past this kind of gimmick in music. What a shame.
