Book Description

August 1, 2010
The second edition of Give Your Elevator Speech a Lift! features a new chapter on personal branding and how your elevator speech helps you build your personal brand. There are also tips and strategies for incorporating new web media and social media into your marketing efforts. Whether you're at a business event or a social function, what's the most common question asked by someone you've just met? What do you do? Those four words represent a golden opportunity for you to market yourself. But here's the catch: In most cases you have just a few seconds to get your message across and engage your listener's interest. How do you do that? With an elevator speech.

Questionable Reviewers December 4, 2008
Note: I have not read the book. This review concerns the user reviews.

Amazon provides great service by allowing users to review books. Some reviews are more helpful than others. The less helpful reviewers are sometimes friends of the author who promoting the book. These reviewers seem to be biased, friends(?) of the author. First, Jeanette Nyden is both a user reviewer and an Editorial reviewer. Second, most of the reviewers have only one review, this book. Lastly, the reviewers are concentrated around Seattle, WA.

In summary, if you are interested, buy the book. But be aware that Amazon's user reviews may not reflect the value of the content.

I agree with Jason Wirth's comments. Seems that the author sent out 'reviews' to her friends/family to post. I don't think that the one reviewer who is into online fantasy gaming would be reading or needing information on Elevator Speaches!
