5.0 out of 5 stars great vocals, great backing, very very solid album, September 9, 2007
This review is from: Give Yourself Away (Audio CD)
Half of these songs are songs they actually play on Sundays at the Ecclesia Church here in Houston. Every single track on this album is an experience. The rhythms are catchy. The guitars, keyboards, and bass contribute to a generally spirit-lifting air. Robbie's voice is raspy yet matches the rest of the band perfectly. The lyrics are well-written.

My personal favorites are: "Rise", "New Day", "Go Outside", and "Shine Your Light on Us".

If you want to see him live, just swing by Ecclesia close to downtown Houston, in the Montrose area. They'll bring the whole package the same way they do in this album.

Highly recommend this to everyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, relevant worship music, October 31, 2007
This review is from: Give Yourself Away (Audio CD)
I actually remember getting this album as a gift for subscribing to a newsletter and I wasn't expecting a gift to be something as good as this, but I was definately surprised upon playing it! Lyrically, the songs are beautiful, and remind us to reach beyond our world to those who need us the most. Musically, RSB tackles everything from upbeat, driving songs like "Song of Hope (Heaven Come Down)" to softer piano-based songs such as "New Day". I had a chance to listen to Better Days after this album, and this album is an enormous improvement over their debut. Definately one of the best albums I've heard so far this year, can't wait to see what's coming up next!

5.0 out of 5 stars Never get tired of hearing these songs., March 19, 2009

This is not your usual "worship album." It is also not just a "Christian music" album.

This is my first RSB album I have purchased, and I never get tired of listening to it. I think they have released a couple albums before this, and if this is any testimony to their previous work, they are an incredibly gifted group of musicians, musically and lyrically.

I first heard of the RSB when they constantly played their single "Heaven Come Down" on KSBJ, the local Christian radio station. It does nothing short of causing you to crank up your stereo in your car and to sing along and jam along on the road. The more and more they played, the more and more I loved it. Then, I was watching a preview for American Idol last season, and I heard a familiar voice to a song that played in the background... it was "Rise". Shortly after, I googled the commercial, and discovered it was RSB. What an incredible range of music, I thought! Robbie Seay has a very unique voice that takes his songs in a really different (good) direction. Every song on the album deserves "cranking up" on your stereo, whether it be in the car or on your laptop... anywhere, these guys lead us into worship the amazing God that loves us and cares for us.

"Shine Your Light on Us", "Heaven Come Down," and "Beautiful Scandalous Night" are a few personal favorites, that I always like to put on repeat.

Great rhythms, skilled and interesting drum beats, cool guitar licks and superb keyboards. Plus Robbie's raspy voice produces sounds that lights up the heavens. And that's just the music. The lyrics are inspiring as well as challenging. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant., February 29, 2008

This review is from: Give Yourself Away (Audio CD)
After releasing numerous 'ok' cds, Robbie Seay has produced what, in my opinion, is the best christian cd in the last 6 months without a doubt. He's toned down the 'I just swallowed a pound of gravel' edge he had to his voice on 'Better Days', and his guitarist is quite frankly awesome. Almost every track from the radio-friendly 'Rise' and 'Song of hope' to the revamped hymn 'beautiful, scandalous night' and the psychadelic whirl of 'can't go back' will get lodged in your head and have you singing along for weeks or months. The question that has to be asked is 'Are the Robbie Seay Band about to pick up the baton from David Crowder Band'?

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite album of 2007!!!, October 30, 2007
This review is from: Give Yourself Away (Audio CD)
Give Yourself Away is, hands down, my favorite album of the year 2007. Though I thought their debut album was mediocre, they have certainly kicked it up into high gear with their second album. The "sophomore slump" does NOT apply to RSB. They made a brilliant album. "Song Of Hope" is their best song! This is a must-have!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Talented band with faith-challenging lyrics, October 7, 2007

I'm posting this review, and still I didn't receive the cd. I had few listens to the samples on the tracking list and it was enough to click on order ;-). The voice of the vocal leader just rocks. His talented crescendo's perfectly fit the great musical arrangements. This is a band that needs to be encouraged and launched in mainstream.. with caution and prayers. They have a talented style that a lot of people may easily appreciate. I didn't buy their previous project as it didn't grab me that much except 1 or 2 tracks. But this one seems to cover few highlights. Track nr 2 "Song of Hope" is just amazing. I could listen to it all day long. I don't know where/how some artists may release such inspiring tunes. Congrats guys, your music proves that you work hard! God bless you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Full of God's Breathe, August 15, 2009

I discovered RSB on a WOW CD I bought while I was home (Houston)--the song was "Better Days". When i returned to Iraq I got online and purched the CD. I got it, loved it, turned around and bought Give yourself Away. Robbie Seay and the guys are a diamond mine. His voice, the lyrics and instrumentals--enchanting. Though I love ALL his songs, I am partial to Eternal One, Go Outside, New Day (wow!), and Stay (from this album). RSB in my honest opinion is going straight to the top and they will bring so many to the cross. He has a gift, and he is definately using it to give all the honor and glory to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I bought this CD over a month ago. It is what I listen to at work, in my living container, while at the gym, and when I walk. He with his lyrics and melodies has helped me fall even deeper in love with Christ. Thank you, Robbie!

This review is from: Give Yourself Away (Audio CD)
Listening to this CD is like listeing to your best friend. Whatever you are feeling, you can listen to this CD and its as someone who's known you your whole life is talking with you. Not to mention, it's an epic worship CD if you are hungry and seeking. Robbie Seay has a unique voice that amplifies the sincerity in his lyrics as well. Overall, it is a good CD if you are looking for some real honesty or encouragment.
