This review is from: The Giver Study Guide (Paperback)
This book is written for homeschoolers and Christian schools. There are several biblical suggestions that obviously can't be used in a public school. I didn't know this when I bought it as it is not mentioned in the editorial review. I can utilize the guide with alterations.

Students suprised,
By
This review is from: The Giver Study Guide (Paperback)
I used this guide with the 7th & 8th graders at a Catholic School. The comparison of book themes and bible references was very useful. The students came to see the Bible as a work of literature and to understand the concept of a parable.
My students were suprised to discover that you could find a spiritual aspect to a "regular" book.

We thought that this was a wonderful literature guide and bible study in one! As to the previous poster who said the editorial review did not mention that this was Christian....she must of glanced over the word "scriptural." I wouldn't think of letting my child read this book without this guide to put it in context. It deals with very serious issues, such as abortion and euthanasia.

This review is from: The Giver Study Guide (Perfect Paperback)
I found this study guide to be one of the best after comparing to other guides. My only complaint is that it covered the book too much (if you can call that a complaint)! Some of the answers to questions were too obvious for me to even ask the kids and I simply skipped over them. Otherwise, a very well, thought out study guide to the book.

So far we have done several Progeny Press study guides and this one is just as thorough as all the rest. My children and I would recommen them for grades 4-8.
