5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!
This book is terrific! The illustrations are awesome!
It actually gave us the idea for a new fmaily tradition for Thanksgiving -hiking with our kids - giving thanks to nature and everything around us. :-)

2.0 out of 5 stars Pagan Book
This is not a book about being thankful for nature. It is about being thankful TO nature. The book teaches children to be thankful to animals, and inanimate objects of nature - not God. It would be helpful to the consumer if this book was labeled somewhere as a book of Paganism as this is not clear from the cover.

5.0 out of 5 stars A beautiful book about being thankful for nature, November 16, 2007
This review is from: Giving Thanks (Hardcover)
The book teaches children to be thankful to animals, and inanimate objects of nature.

True. And it's lovely. The illustrations are beautiful. A father and son take a walk through the woods near their house, and the father teaches his son to be thankful for all the things in nature that they see.

At the end, the son even says, "To me, it's a little embarrassing to say thanks to trees and things. But Dad says it becomes a habit; it just makes you feel good."

Each page is richly illustrated, with lush paintings, and just a few words per page, allowing the child (and parent) to enjoy the illustrations and message.

A beautiful book with a beautiful lesson.
