4.0 out of 5 stars Great item for the price September 25, 2010

I wasn't sure whether or not to get a hard case like the official Kindle 3 case or not, but wanted to give this a try given the price.

I am very pleased with the case, appears to be made quite well for a couple dollar item. The Kindle 3 fits perfectly in the case.

I did leave the foam packaging insert in to give it a little more solid and protected feel.

I would recommend this to anyone not sure about paying $40 for the official case.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very pleased October 13, 2010

I have been looking for a case/sleeve since I received my K3 but I didn't want to pay the outrageous prices that I have been seeing and finally I stumbled across this case. I thought that for the price it would probably be pretty crappy but something is better than nothing so after reading the reviews I decided to give it a shot. I love it. I cannot believe that the $25/$30+ cases could be that much better than this.

I did keep the foam insert in for added protection.

5.0 out of 5 stars great buy October 31, 2010

Do not be put off by the inexpensive price. This inexpensive case does exactly what it is supposed to do - protect the kindle. I suggest you retain the foam insert to provide even more protection. the zippers work fine. The small compartment is great for cords, or a few tea bags.

update: You must turn the K3 off BEFORE you put it into the case; otherwise, the K3 can end up a locked state that requires a reset

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good item for it's price!! September 28, 2010

i give this item a 4.5 star review (i could make a 4.5 but still found it closer to 5 than 4)
I just got my case right on time, yesterday with my new kindle and skin! the skin and kindle are boath great!! After getting my kindle set up, i opened the case. I was happy to find that it was of good quality, and nice looking. In the picture you see, the red is just barley showing, and it does look kinda creepy. This is why at first, i was reluctant to get it. The case fits the kindle while it is charging, it does not make it too thick, or heavy, which is very nice, also I love how te pocket is a great size, and the charger that comes with the kindle fits right in it, while adding only minimal bulk. Of course i do have a reason for making it 4.5 out of 5 stars, and that is because it is a little spacey, but i dont think it will be a huge problem, i just wish i could be a better fit.
For 6 dollars, this is an outstanding case, though i would not pay more than 15 for it. If i had the money to buy a 60 dollar or even a 35 dollar case i probably would, but when i'm a minor who still relies on babysitting, this is a great buy!

4.0 out of 5 stars Works great, looks nice, high quality August 3, 2011

It seems that there are two different kinds of kindle cases. The first is the kind that semi-permanently attach to the kindle and have a book-like cover that you can flip open to read. These covers look nice, but they don't do very much to protect the kindle. Just like a normal book, only the top and bottom are protected - the sides are open and vulnurable. The second kind of case is a pouch like this one. It fully-encloses the kindle when you're not using it, protecting it from dirt, water (not water PROOF, but maybe a small spill or damp counter), and dropping.

I am pretty harsh on equipment, so I put protective cases through the ringer. For a cell phone, I need a case that will always be on the phone. Phones are constantly being pulled out and checked on for a few seconds and put away. If the case is not a part of the phone, you will inevitably drop the phone when it's not in the case! An e-reader on the other hand is not a spur-of-the-moment thing. I'm not likely to sit down and read for 30 seconds, I'm going to read for 30 minutes. By that logic, the kind of protection I need is when I'm not reading. I wanted to get a case to put the kindle in so it will survive being thrown into a bag and brought with me someplace.

Fit:
The case is not *perfectly* sized for the kindle 3, but it is very close and a good size. There's maybe 1/2" to 3/4" of extra space on the long side, and a flap on the inside to protect it from the inside of the zipper. There may be enough space in this pouch for a kindle that has a thin always-on kind of case! I don't have one of those, so I can't test this, but neoprene is stretchy, and there's extra room, so chances are good. If one of those cases would fit inside this one, I would call that a good reason for the "loose" fit.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pleasantly Surprised September 29, 2010

This item is very well made and is just the right size for a Kindle 3. I ordered this as a temporary solution so that my Kindle will be protected while I decide what kind of cover, case, or skin I want. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now and there doesn't seem to be any reason to stop. I may get something more substantial (and more expensive) in the future, but this case allows me to wait until I find something that really suits my needs. Overall, I'm very pleased with this case.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great, but a bit flimsy September 24, 2011
Verified Purchase
I got this case because I wanted a sleeve to safely carry and store my Kindle, but not one of the flip open type holders because I did not want the extra weight while reading. The extra zippered section is great as well, I can keep my ear buds and other small stuff in it.

However, this case is not super well made, the zipper got off track the first day, but I was able to get it back together, and if I am careful, it stays together.

However at the price, I can't complain much..

All in all, a good case for the cost..

5.0 out of 5 stars Just enough
Because it is only a 'holder', it doesn't add any weight to the Kindle when you are reading. It does, however, protect the Kindle in your bag, luggage, or even on your nightstand.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too big
Overall not a bad case, but it was not made for Kindle keyboard. It is at least an inch bigger and add the unnecessary bulk to my purse. But...for the money it is good value.

1.0 out of 5 stars Gizmo Dorks Zipper Case
I was expecting a solid case to store my kindle. Instead, I was surprised to see that it was a flimsy pouch with no support whatsoever. I did not like it, and I will not use it.
