4.0 out of 5 stars The strength of this Salsa Tenor
This singer is to be commended! Not only is the voice even and smooth but it contains a ring not found in most salsa tenors today with the exception of Marc Anthony. George proves in this album a vocal strength that is pleasing to the ear esp. in Volver Amar; a song that is a challenge but George flies thru it with ease in his upper register. God Bless you Babe :)

3.0 out of 5 stars An improvement from his first salsa album
George Lamond returned again in 2001 with his sophmore salsa album, an improvement from his debut. While the arrangements and the improvisations on this album are considerably better, the material still remains average for the most part. The simple and repetitive lyrics of songs such as "Como Un Loco," and "Me Alejare" really put a damper on this record. Also the barely...

He survived the sophmore jinx for his salsa career. A nice blend of smooth vocals and mid tempo salsa; no R&B crybaby stuff here. Neither his voice or the music are thrown way back in to the background; a nice balance.

Also the barely discernable lyrics and dead arrangements of "Una Mentira" certainly didn't help. The vocals however still remain very good and their is alot of worthy material on this album. Standout tracks include the beautifully arranged tracks "Volver Amar, "Jurare Quererte," and "Una Cancion." Tracks such as "La Ultima Noche," "Como Se Sabe,"Cuando Te Toque Llorar," and the pleasantly energetic "Dime Que Piensas" are also worth taking a listen to. If only George Lamond would have stuck with salsa maybe he would have put together a better album in his next effort, after all they say three times is a charm.

I have to agree that George Lamond definitely beat the sophomore jinx. This album is definitely a great improvement from his first album. The arrangements are well put together. I loved this album. Hopefully George will put out a Third Salsa Album and make us all happy. I would love to see George and Sergio George hook up for a whole album. I think that combo would put George on another level considering what Sergio did for Marc Anthony, La India & DLG to name a few.
