these are the worst containers I have ever used, I agree with the other reviews about the new lid design- that is really bad.
But much worse- these containers are advertised as microwaveable. They are not!! In a 900 watt microwave they melt after 28 seconds ( yes the lid was off ) I burned my hand when I tried to remove it from the microwave( the melted container fell apart and the hot plastic burned my hand ).
They are dangerous- do not use in the microwave!!

Did you ever want to have a complete collection of plastic food containers that stack well, and all use the same lid? Well I never really had that problem. But someone I live with does. And he is in fact so crazy about having a certain size (24 oz) container, that when we tried to give away left overs at Thanksgiving, he made a big stink about which ones we let leave the house. I recently found that part of the problem was that for some reason, these particular containers had started to be hard to find in the local stores. Well, as I am an Amazon prime member, I decided to see if we could build up our supply of these specific containers, with the blue lids on line. It seemed like a perfect solution. Just get them delivered.
So I ordered the bulk pack! That's right, 6 packages of 5 containers and lids. A complete set of 30 containers.
You can not believe the joy they brought when they arrived. It seems like we will never be short of 24 oz glad ware containers for a long time.
The problem is, that the rationing has not ended. Most of the new containers are stored in the basement pantry. Not in the kitchen. So I am concerned that issue my be bigger than hard to find containers. I am concerned that there may be a bit of a hoarding issue.

But the bottom line is, these containers will stay sealed even when inverted. They nest nicely for storage, and they also stack nicely in the refrigerator, and they fit easily in most lunch boxes. Even a child's lunchbox.
The bottom line is that if you use plastic containers to store leftovers, or for lunches, and want to be able to occasionally give some away without causing anyone to get upset about the fact that the container might never come back home, then buy this bulk pack. It is a value, and a fantastic product.

I loved the GladWare that I bought at the supermarket about a year ago, but it seems that they've changed the design of the lids. These new lids were very difficult to open, and several of mine cracked as I was trying to force them open.

I've used these Glad containers for probably 10 years. I use them for leftovers, for sending food to friends' houses, for kids' snacks, for holding paint when I'm painting trim, and for keeping hardware like screws and nuts contained in one place. We've also used them over the years to keep grasshoppers, toads, and various other small animals and tadpoles long enough to admire them before releasing them. I've used them for putting out water for the cats when their bowl has frozen over, and I've used them as a scoop in a big bag of bird seed. They're the perfect size for so many jobs, and if they break or get stained I'm not upset.

The bowls themselves are rectangular and hold 2-3 (up to 24 ounces) cups of whatever. They are thicker than the plastic bowls you get with lunchmeat at the store. They wash well and don't get brittle with age. The lids are a little more fragile, but I hand wash them and air dry them in the dish drainer so the heat of the dishwasher doesn't destroy them.

This 30-pack of bowls and lids is a great value. With free SuperSaver shipping (on orders over $25) they are .89 cents each. If you get them through Subscribe & Save you'll get the free shipping and the price drops to .76 cents each.

I can't imagine our household without these great little bowls!

My sister-in-law has tons of these in all sizes and shapes. The reason I'm here looking for 24-oz Gladware is because I was very ill over the holidays and unable to attend Christmas dinner at her house. She sent leftovers back for me: about 15 different Gladware containers. The older ones with the flat lids are fine, however, in transferring the goodies from her containers to my own, I destroyed 3 of her newer domed lids just trying to open the containers. I realize pushing on the center dome of the new lids is the answer, but that didn't help much. I think she put the food in while still hot/warm and the suction sealed their doom (the lids, that is).

I went through a similar disaster with the leftovers she sent home to me for New Year's as well. I tried my hardest to open 2 containers and gave up because I just knew I was going to crack them. Had my hubby (her brother) try - he broke 2. Had my girlfriend try the others: she broke 1. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. When I called my SIL to tell her I had done it again, she just couldn't understand it: she's never broken any. Sigh.

Think I need to get some of these and keep them on hand just for those times I break more of hers.

Okay, I need to use Bible's 1John1:9 (naming my sins to God, here of anger) every time I use these. Thankfully out of the original group I purchased five years prior, most became damaged; so, I've only a few left. THEY WILL NOT STACK because some dufus thought that center poptop was a good idea. All these years have now passed and still the design is used? So now it's the customer's fault for buying, no longer MADware's. The tops wreck an otherwise quality product. Hard to store, NO they don't clamp together, and NO they don't stack, so that everything wobbles in your freezer.

But YES they microwave decently (not for all foods and not for too long, but defrosting works well), and YES they hold up under repeated abuse straight from the freezer. They are a softer plastic so not as brittle. I don't like how the top ridge is so thick.. but I'd start buying them again if they got rid of that circle in the middle top and reverted to the old flat-top style which made you GLAD to use GLADware.

Okay, maybe I need 1John 1:9 again. I name my sin of MADware aggravation, Dad. :)
