4.0 out of 5 stars Im GLAD I Bought It. Buy it while you can., December 1, 2004

This review is from: Glad [Vinyl] (Vinyl)
Miracle Legion's EP, "Glad", starts out with a not so glad cover "Heart Disease Called Love". This song and the title track have a country flavor brought out by the tone in Mark Mulcahy's voice. Side 2 is a stunning live recording of Miracle Legion playing songs from "The Backyard" and "Surprise Surprise Surprise", closing with "Closer To The Wall" featuring Pere Ubu. If you like this, also check out "Surprise Surprise Surprise" (LP/Extended Tape/Extended Japan CD) and "Me and Mr. Ray" (LP/CD/Tape).
Track Listing:
1. Heart Disease Called Love
2. Glad
3. Hey Lucky
4. Butterflies (Live at the Ritz)
5. Mr. Mingo (Live at the Ritz)
6. Wonderment (Live at the Ritz)
7. Closer To The Wall (Live at the Ritz, featuring Pere Ubu)

Availablitity note: this EP is, as of writing, out of print and available exclusively on tape and vinyl (tape is easier to find). It was never on cd and is not likely to be reissued because of legal issues involving the rights to the master tapes.

Technical note: At the end of this EP, the drummer, Jeff Wiederschall, says "You're a real treat, a r-- treat". There is a blank in the recording. That is not a defect in your tape/record. That is how the original recording was. The man at the soundboard turned off the microphone then quick turned it back on.
