3.0 out of 5 stars Leaves a residue! July 10, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase
After doing some research online I found out that Glad Press'n Seal uses an adhesive made from the same ingredients as chewing gum. It can leave a residue and a Glad rep said to use peanut butter or oil to remove it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Why does the old plastic wrap still exist? May 13, 2011
This product is amazing. I was transporting a bowl wrapped with old-style plastic wrap (big mistake) and it was leaking everywhere, so I stopped at a store and bought this Press'n Seal wrap - the difference is amazing. It sticks to the rim of the container and creates a really tight seal.

Liquid, smells, everything is trapped when you use this product - I love it, I will never go back to non-sticky old-style plastic wrap.

2.0 out of 5 stars Nice idea--needs more work. June 12, 2012
I had used this once at my sister's home when I was helping her put away food after a party. I was impressed with how well it sealed up the leftovers. So when I saw it in the store I decided to give it a try. After a few weeks of use I can say for sure I won't be buying it again. Here are my issues. When you seal something the first time, it sticks so well! If you plan on getting into that container again, don't expect to be able to reseal with the same piece of wrap. It doesn't stick the second time. Have leftovers in the fridge? Just want to have a little bit for lunch and save the rest for dinner? To get a good seal after dishing up your lunch you will need another piece of Press 'n Seal. This never happened with the old Cling Wrap. I could reseal a bowl as many times as I needed. Sure, it doesn't cling as tightly with a liquid proof seal as the Press 'n Seal does the first time around, but honestly, when I need a seal that secure I choose a bowl with a lid.
My second issue is one that has been mentioned many times already--the residue it leaves. I have some pretty glass bowls I use for serving greens and fruit salads at our weekly family Sunday dinners. When we have leftovers, rather than transfer them to another bowl, I have put a wrap over the top, knowing by Monday we will have consumed what is left. I recently noticed that even after they have been through the dishwasher there is a residue in the pattern of the Press 'n Seal adhesive around the top edge of the bowl. It isn't easy to get off. Who needs that?
If all you want to do is seal up some hamburgers to throw in your cooler to take to a cookout, you may love this, but for the many ways in which I have used the good old Glad Cling Wrap, this has not been a good substitute. In my opinion, the negatives outweigh the positive.
I bought this in a 2-pack and I won't be using the second pack--anyone want it?
