I like Krall and her music. The song selections and arrangements on this CD are terrific. The production quality is crude, almost as if it were recorded in someone's garage. I don't know if it was produced this way or if there was some defect in the manufacture of the physical CD. I would buy this CD in a record store and try it at home. Buying this particular item online and then perhaps having to return it or exchange it is way too expensive when you figure in the mailing costs.
When Diana Krall releases a new CD/MP3, I normally buy it immediately. Her newest-- "Glad Rag Doll" is a departure from the DK you know from "Live in Paris"--the defining work by this cool chanteuse. It has a rag-time theme -20s + 30s jazz although some tracks break from this style.
If you like ragtime jazz-- you'll love it. Not your musical groove? Give the tracks a listen. Many are a worthy buy. IMO-not her best but good from Krall always beats the competition.
