Great product but it could be cheaper,

I recently took the plunge and made the switch to reusable pads. These Glad Rags work well and are very well made. I specifically like the way the wings wrap around your undies and snap in place. I also like the multiple inserts provided because they allow you to choose how thick the pad needs to be. I've been sincerely satisfied with the product itself, but even at the price they are here on Amazon, I still believe they are more expensive than they should be (hence, three stars instead of five).
When I looked at the pads I recieved, even as well made as they are, I quickly realized it wouldn't be hard to make them and felt a little ripped off at the price I'd paid. I later found several websites that offer patterns and ideas for sewing your own at a fraction of the cost. So if you are looking to purchase these and you have even the most beginner's skill in sewing, do a little online research and ask yourself if it might be better to make them yourself. You could spend $100 or more to purchase enough of these pads to last a single period versus $10-$25 in materials to make them.

If you're worried about switching to a reusable pad, I have one suggestion: JUST DO IT!!! Once you do, you'll never go back to disposables. I ordered this brand when I realized I'd be starting my period during my vacation, and hadn't brought anything with me. The thought of going to the store for products just repulsed me to the point that I quickly ordered these online just in time.
My only comment is that this brand of reusable pad(unlike other brands I've bought in the past)gets all wrinkled up in the laundry. Once it's been washed, it's all wrinkled, which makes it difficult to smooth out and place comfortably in your underwear. Plus, I've never quite been a fan of pads "with wings." My suggestion (again) is to make the switch. You won't regret it. Beyond that, which brand you choose is just a personal preference.

I have been using thes pads for over 15 years and was very disappointed with the thin quality of the material and the high cost! One wrap with two pad inserts for $27.00, way too much. When you buy them they call it a 3 pack so one would assume, a set of 3 is one and a 3 pack would be 3 sets??

Like the first reviewer says: Once you try these, you really will never go back! They really are more absorbent than disposables and most important of all, they are much softer, and more breathable!
Since switching to Gladrags/cloth pads about 6 months ago, I no longer have itching, odor, nor trapped heat/sweat issues. Also easy to rinse, and then just toss them in your washer and dryer!

I only wish I had found them sooner. I have always hated traditional pads, I find them irritating. And I get alot of UTI's that always seem related. I also hate knowing that I am just adding to the waste on this planet. Those things probably degrade so slowly. When I switched to reusable pads, I lost the guilt of throwing away all those pads and best of all, these don't irritate me like the disposable ones do. There is only cotton and it feels so much better.
I have not had any problem with absorption or leakage or anything. They are prone to moving a little bit more than normal pads since they are not adhesive, but the snap button works well and its not like they could fall off completely, just that they could move slightly anterior or posterior if you are very active. I thought changing would be difficult in public places since you have to bring the pad back out with you, but you can have a small discrete bag or your purse. Has not been an issue for me. I cannot recommend these highly enough!

I love Glad Rags and have been using them for several years. I was excited to add a few more to my collection at a great price. Though I was wary of the "assorted colors" without the ability to choose, I went ahead with the purchase. I should have known I would not get the nice, rich, solid colors like the ones pictured. Instead I got three pink confetti prints. Not something I would have picked out, but it gave my husband and I a good laugh, and they'll work just the same.

I am never using regular old pads again. Is there anything else I really need to say? Glad rags are easy to use, easy to wash, and great for the environment. Natural fibers mean no more sweating, chafing, or weird smells... perfect!

Glad rags has poor quality control,
This review is from: Glad Rags Color Pad 3-Pak (Assorted Colors) (Health and Beauty)
When I first bought Glad Rags some years ago, they were fantastic, well-made, well-stitched, and lay flat even after many washings-- and well worth the high price. I would have given them five stars. I still have some of those today that I use as panty liners and they are as good as they ever were. ( I found they weren't irritating like the disposable panty liners.) However, when I bought a package of Glad Rags recently to replace a couple that the dog ate (!!), I was VERY disappointed. The inserts of the new Glad Rags were narrower than before and so poorly made that every time I washed them they all crinkled up and I had to IRON them before they were usable! Until the company gets their act together and does a better job of quality control, I suggest you make your own liners for light days or panty liners. It's easy--and I'm not a seamstress! I used four layers of good cotton flannel (that I pre-washed in very hot water), cut in an oblong shape and double hand stitched and finished around the edges while watching something insipid on television. If you just need panty liners, you can pin your home-made liners through two layers of the flannel into the crotch with a very small safety pin from the outside of the undies. (Double-check to make sure it's securely pinned!) Saves a lot of money too.
