I've bought two of these within the last year and both were easy to build and very well constructed. The directions are very easy to follow and it took me about an hour to setup.Drawers on both of my units slide well. Keep an eye on the price of these units as they tend to go on sale for a great price and free shipping.

The quality is OK for the price. It is somewhat difficult to assemble, but once together it gets the job done. It's even better with the wheel kit on it. I'm glad I bought the kit.

Just a note for those that are looking to purchase these cabinets. If you are planning on these cabinets with the optional casters and the VersaTop Work Surface and 6' or 8' Workbench they will not fit under the workbench, too tall by only around an inch. Knowing that this cabinet is not the "Premier" series I don't see how Whirlpool could overlook this as this is to be a modular system. Was told these are the "Manufactured in China" cheaper model and not the "Premier" made in Chicago. Would have thought that Gladiator would have been more specific to this such as another line of product as they have the Cadet and Premier lines. Still a good overall product, just need to be a little more descriptive in their product lines and versatility.

These cabinets look like the same ones that I had professionally installed in my garage, they are not.Lighter weight material and no magnetic closure, a cheap clip instead.

Exactly what I expected,

I bought two of these (+casters) along with 14 other gladiator pieces - about half RTA (like this one) and half Premier series, both floor and wall cabinets - and they were exactly what I expected. They were more or less easy to assemble. The RTA series are still pretty solid units - great for storage of non-heavy-use items (I filled one with paint/painting-utensils), and the other with potting/gardening tools. Sure they aren't as nice as the Premier versions (deeper/welded/more sturdy) but at the same time, they look great, aren't anywhere near what I would call flimsy. Adding the caster kit and a piece of mdf or the like on top makes them great mobile work surfaces (I wouldn't be hammering on them of course), but they certainly can hold a decent amount of weight. They match the premier at first glance - so if you need some cabinets for lighter-weight duty (at least as compared to the premier - these are still very nice compared to the usual mdf/particleboard/melamine alternatives) then these pair very nicely with the premier units. If you're not going to be banging them around daily, I wouldn't be the least bit concerned about their bolted-together construction. Take reviews complaining that these are "not the same as the Premier series" with a grain of salt... of course they aren't! They're half the price! But if you know what to expect, they're great cabinets.

I purchased one of these units to go alongside my existing Gladiator units. I could tell upon opening up the box that this unit was way different from what I had and during assembly, I contemplated returning the unit several times. Obviously, screws are needed for assembly which differs from the welded premier units. A big disappointment was the fact that the "threaded" portions of the sheet metal are anything but undersized holes. This would have been ok except that the provided screws are not of the self tapping variety but normal machine screws. One literally has to force start each screw and also be careful not to over-tighten or else they will strip out. I was also very disappointed in the drawer - it is not a full extension like the premier units. On the plus side, the packing of the unit was very good, each part was wrapped in plastic and most were further wrapped in cardboard and then everything was encased in several inches of styrofoam. They even include a bag of extra hardware (one of each) though I was missing the post that catches the front doors; note the premier units have a magnetic catch. Since I got a pretty good deal on Amazon ($145 with wheel kit), it isnt worth taking apart and returning. In the future, I would only purchase the Premier series.

This is a nice looking piece and is lightweight. As others have mentioned the pre-drilled holes and provided screws are anything but adequate and assembly takes twice as long as it should due to this defect. The holes lined up fine but the screws would not thread through half of the holes without force. I suggest using a power drill when assembling although for this price the manufacturer should provide a truly ready to assemble product...but of course as others have also pointed out this version of the product was made in China. I wish I had taken the time to read all the reviews better before my purchase. I would have bought the made in the USA higher quality model.

This isn't quite like the Premier line, but still pretty good for the money. Assembly was easy until it came time to assemble the drawer. Very few of the pre-drilled holes truly matched up. So now that I know how to work around that problem, I didn't think twice about ordering another with the wooden work surface top.Once it's assembled it is nice. It is sturdy and looks just like the Premier line.

They're alright,

Theyre alright. I paid 80 dollars each for two of them and another 80 for the worktop surface from a craigslist ad. I have several pieces from 40-60% off retail through craigslist and searching around for sales. I have about $1500 worth of Gladiator from 40-60% off of Sears sale prices. The RTA is OK, and is the little cousin to the Premier series. The drawers dont pull out all the way, and the slides arent ball-bearing. But as many reviewers say, its a good price point and looks great with the Premier series, and very functional for somewhat lighter use. My garage floor is slightly uneven for proper run-off. You cant see it with the naked eye but you can see it with the Gladiator cabinets. They look so crooked when put side-by side. I have to adjust the screw-on feet to make it all level. Its a pain because I have to stoop down low and screw and adjust, screw and adjust until I get it right. I want to buy casters but I dont like the idea of paying full price since I have bought all of my other pieces cheap. Casters for the RTA are going to be hard to find at a 50% off discount. I just bought the RTA fold-down workstation for 80 dollars at a Sears overstock brand new, so I'll write about it next...

Good instructions, quute a bit of assembly, drawer rails rub against bottom support rail, clearance problem (does not slide correctly). Had to slightly bend the front support rail bar to get to work properly.
