Make Your Gear More Accessible
Transform your garage from a cluttered storage space into a functional workspace in a few easy steps. With Gladiator GarageWorks GearWall Panels, you get the foundation you need to free up valuable floor space and utilize your garage to its fullest capacity. Gear will be a breeze to locate when it's organized on your garage wall, instead of stacked, boxed, or shoved into a corner.

Eliminate Clutter by Optimizing Your Wall Space
Patented GearWall Panels are one-foot-high by eight-feet-long sections of heavy-duty composite material that easily attach to wood studs and drywall over wood studs. Once they're mounted to your wall, the panels are designed to support up to 50 pounds of weight per linear foot, making them great for holding large, heavy items, such as loaded cabinets, bikes, and gardening equipment.

GearWall panels are designed to link together to create a seamless wall of possibilities. Optional color-matched screws and panel trim can be added to create a coordinated look.

Tool-Free Components Provide Optimal Organization
Once the panels are secure, Gladiator wall accessories and GearBoxes (each sold separately) easily fit into the panels' channels with no drilling required. The panels' patented Double Channel design securely holds the gear-filled components in place until you're ready to move them. When reorganizing, the components can be easily repositioned left or right.

Additionally, the GearWall Panels are built to withstand the extreme heat, cold, and humidity of a tough garage environment, and they are backed by a 10-year limited manufacturer's warranty.

The GearWall panels are easy to install and look good. But beware...doing a large wall or multiple walls of a garage will set you back several thousand $$$ just for these wall panels. When measuring wall space you can expect to pay $7.00 per square foot of covered wall space.

I bought these panels from Amazon in May 2011, and I was very happy with their service. One package was damaged in transit which in turn, caused damage to a panel but returning the panels and receiving a replacement set was not bothersome. Amazon's step-by-step computer instructions on returns was very plain and simple to comprehend.

The panels are not light and installing the base set is really a two person job to get them lined up straight. Ideally, three persons--two to hold either end for balance and a third person to drive in the initial screws. After the initial base panels are installed, you can lift subsequent panels into the grove on the base set and letting gravity do the work, gently hold the panel against the wall to screw it in. Handling a single panel by oneself requires moderate strength.

Note: if you are covering a wall, I suggest screwing the base panel in "snugly" at both ends and in the middle and then start stacking the second set. If you screw the entire base panel in tightly, it might cause you problems correctly seating the second panel on top of the grove of the base panel. After the panels are stacked, you can go back and finish tightly screwing them into the studs.

A challenge I found is that when you hit a light switch or electrical outlet, you must be very careful to correctly measure the hole you have to cut. Cutting the panel is fairly easy (I used a jigsaw and cordless circular saw depending on the location of the cut). If you are precise with your cuts, you can skip the finishing trim that Gladiator offers as an accessory. Believe me, the trim it is an absolute royal pain to correctly cut to get it to look good around a light switch/electrical outlet.

I bought these for my husband as a birthday gift- he's a huge cyclist and quite the handy-man around the house, so he owns a ton of tools & is often working on the 5 bikes we own in the garage. He LOVES the gladiator products. We got 1 set of the panels up in the garage. We also have a lot of the other gladiator products: clean up caddy, project caddy, the small bins, the loop hooks & the L hooks.

3 reasons I give it 4 stars (instead of 5):

1. Very costly to ship- I actually opted to drive an hour to Conyers, GA to pick them up because the shipping was far more expensive than the cost of gas for me.

2. They are a bit of a pain to install. We had a 3-man team to install these suckers up on the wall (there is no way to do it yourself, they are pretty heavy). We had a few screws strip pretty bad trying to get the panels up- and we used the recommended gladiator brand screws.(this could be the fault of our walls/studs vs. the panels though).

3. The panels & accessories are a bit pricey. Although they are, they have proven to be very solid products that are holding up well. We are very pleased with our purchase & will be purchasing another set of panels soon.

Overall, it is a very solid product and it looks a lot better than a cheap peg-board. If you spend a lot of time in the garage or need a good organization system, I would highly recommend this product!

Makes the garage look GREAT! Amazon had a very good price and deliver was fast. I have an old bare stud 50+ year old dettached garage. Use of the panels save time (no sheathing or paint required) and seems to add a lot of structural strength.

While expensive you can save $s by using less expensive paneling above or below area of interest. I used a pre-painted paneling from the floor to 4' above the flor then used the Gearwall from the 4' mark to the ceiling.

While a bit pricey, I'd do it again even in this economy!

This is a great product. It is pricy but I believe worth it. It is very strong and so far is holding up well. It is also mold and water resistant that is good for a garage. My garage looks so much cleaner and is more organized. I highly recommend this product.

It's been 4 years since i installed this product and hands down the gladiator gearwall panel system is AWESOME! I own a 2 1/2 car garage and after seeing the product first reviewed on either HGTV or DiY channel I began the process of calculating cost, resources needed and endstate what I wanted accomplished: which was a clean, organized and longlasting garage storage/organization system. I easily got all of that and a new favorite room in our home:-)

I'll talk about the Valspar quikrete epoxy floor covering kit I installed in a separate review, but let me just say that if you're gonna go all out and do it - you can't forget the floor!! A painted garage floor in an organized garage really sets it apart:-)

So, let's start at the beginning.

RATING: if i could i would give 4 1/2 stars: the reason not 5 - cost: the paneling is a bit pricey

PRICE: This system is not cheap! at $100+ dollars per 2 panels you can quickly run up some cost depending on the size of your job. For my garage I opted to run a 4ft tall swath around the entire perimeter of my garage. Since my garage has 12ft ceilings, the top of my gearwalling is 7ft off the floor; leaving a 3ft section below the gearwall (the way my garage is built the portion below my gearwall is brick, molding and now a 6" portion of exposed (painted) drywall. I mention all of this because as the saying goes, time is money and results truly rest upon solid preparation. By drawing out my garage on the GE gladiator website first, i was able to calculate how much material was need with minimal excess left over.

SHIPPING: because i opted to buy at a local store instead of here on Amazon - the savings in shipping alone were substantial for such a decent size project.
