Gladiator GarageWorks GAWU12CCTG Clean-Up Caddy

This 12" wide caddy is tidy and slick, and has tread plate to boot! It puts a finishing touch on the rest of my Gladiator Garageworks products. It easily holds my clean-up dispenser product in the caddy on the top over the paper towel dispenser. I mounted it on 24" of Gladiator GearTrack® Channel, next to the garage side door for easy clean-up from chores. I then added two of the end caps for that polished look.

This is a very sturdy (if relatively expensive) product, but it is well-designed and looks great hanging on the GearTrack wall system. You can position it right where you need to have those shop towels and spray cleaners at easy reach, and there's room for several cleaners. You can easily take it off the wall mount and carry it about if you need to, and it sits nicely on a table or floor, giving easy access to the towels and cleaners. You have room in the top for four or five different cleaners, so what more could you need.

In short, like any well designed and well manufactured tool, it's a pleasure to use.

I'm very impressed with the whole Geartrack system and this little caddy is no exception. Yes, it is rather pricey but it holds a lot and is so well made and very cleverly designed.

I purchased this as an addition to my existing GW setup. I custom cut a mounting rail to fit this unit and I must say I like it alot. I have cleaning products in the top along with my shop keys. Very handy.

The only detractor is that the paper towel holder doesn't grip the roll very efficiently. This results in a fine line between not being able to pull the roll and pulling too hard and having the roll pop out and unravel as it glides across the shop floor... sigh.

But generally speaking, this is a well made addition to your GW setup. Note that it does require GW rails, sold separately.

Like other GarageWorks, the build on this is good, and it fits nicely below the GarageWorks big shelf (when the shelf is installed in the "up" position). It's probably a little pricey for what you get, but it gives a great place to store some of the stuff that you want up and away from the kids, and on a good flat surface. Paper towel holder working fine (was skeptical about this aspect).

This is my second clean-up caddy, so there were no surprises.

I already had "the system" (tracks, etc. necessary to mount this to the wall).
If you don't have the track, and are buying only this . . I guess I would recommend "don't".
If you have already bought in to the Gladiator system, then it's OK.

It probably deserves 3.5 stars, with the deduction being mostly the cost.
It's just a paper towel/shop towel holder with a small tray on top.
$22 for that?
For what is is though, it seems to work well, and is pretty sturdy.

This towel holder has a pretty good design, especially with the small shelf to hold bottles of soap, sponges etc. However most towel holders use a bar to go through the towel roll. The gladiator unit should have some type of towel bar so the roll feels more permanently on the caddy. With some yanking on the towel the roll can come off.

I got this at Sears because it was on sale for I think like 15 bucks... Figured why not.

I have their cabinets (welded ones) and love them.

This is nice for a paper towel holder and to put a couple bottles of whatever on top, in my case canned air and some wd40. The thing I do not like about this is that it ONLY goes into the gear track channel... All of their other products you can mount via studs in the wall or gear track.... Why not do the same with this??? Seems very silly to me.

Pretty much what I did was cut the tabs off with my dremel and then just drilled two 1/4" holes into the back of it and used dry wall anchors then mounted it beside my shelf and cabinets... Looks good and you would never know that I did it. I just don't plan on ever using the channel grid system that they have...

This is a handy, sturdy product. I have two gear tracks mounted with a Gladiator RTA gearbox on each end and this in the middle. It fits perfectly and is a great way to store your surface/window cleaning products and shop towels. I was a little surprised by how well the towel dispensor grabs ahold of the towels.

Great addition to any GarageWorks garage, or even just as a standalone item. I am always weary of "ear"-style paper towel holders, but this one is no slouch, it holds rolls of heavy shop towels very securely, and even when near empty the rolls won't twist off until you manually do it. The caddy area on top provides a perfect place for soaps, cleaning supplies, or whatever you feel like throwing up there.

If you have any talent with a circular saw, dremel, or router, you can make your own cleats and avoid paying the exuberant amount of money for the GarageWorks synthetic cleats by picking up some 1x3" lumber of decent quality, and ripping a 3/8" wide by 1/4" deep channel in the top edge of it. Some nice stain, or primed/painted to match your wall, and you have a much nicer setup for a fraction of the cost. This caddy ideally needs two cleats, but the lower one can be shorter, hidden behind the caddy itself. the slot you see in the back of the upper part is the upper cleat, then there is another along the top edge. Using a typical 1x3" as the upper cleat, and 1/2" of spacing between it and the lower cleat, it is very easy to hang. Or you can pick up a piece of the GarageWorks channel, cut it as needed, and hang it and save yourself a bit of time.
