I wanted to have this book because I very much liked the Northwest Press publication "Al Qaeda's Super Secret Weapon". The cover of "Glamazonia" looked vaguely simular in style, so I thought: let's give it a try. Plus, the subtitle "The Uncanny Super-Tranny" sounded like this could be a good book in the context of the current discussion of transsexuality within the LGBT community. Well, first off, I didn't find the title character very likeable or interesting, probably because her bitchy humor is seldom truly edgy enough to carry a whole book. Also, the quality of drawing varies quite a lot in these short stories. Some look rather simply sketched, others are more fine-tuned. My favorite is the story of the Arabian prince and the muslim terrorists (because it's the closest you get here to the "Al Qaeda" book mentioned above). Considering that the book costs nearly 25 dollars, I found too little within these pages to make it worth buying. But since I have it now, I have to say: the cover looks very cool.

This is a collection of short comics starring Glamazonia, the Uncanny Super-Tranny, an ultra drag queen with ridiculous super powers. While there is some amazing art and great storytelling in this book that make it worth buying, it too often gets bogged down with repetitive jokes and sloppy art. It's unique enough that it's worth taking the bad with the good though.
