Steven has written another great book. I have watched him on ET and Today and find him highly amusing, entertaining and seemingly like a fun person. I bought this book because I feel like I 'know' him and was shocked when I learnt several years back how sick he was. He wrote this book very well and mingles humour and painful recollections of his ordeal. I found it...

2.0 out of 5 stars Glam Bam!
Although the subject was serious, Steven Cojokaru dealt with his potential life ending illness just as he does most of his star reviews - like so much fluff and stuff. He is a divia and that is what came through
here, not all the sacrifices made by a dear friend and then his mother. The book was barely average in quality.

I found it interesting how he percieved that his sickness could be the end of his Hollywood career. Only in Hollywood right?
It's not a totally depressing book - in fact it's very heartwarming. I really enjoyed it and think that it's good for anyone who watches Cojo on the red carpets or on ET, or for someone who knows someone going through this very trying time. A well written book that was enjoyable and moving.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cojo Rocks! (And so does "Glamour Interrupted."), February 1, 2008
This review is from: Glamour, Interrupted: How I Became the Best-Dressed Patient in Hollywood (Hardcover)
Love Cojo! LOVE HIM! Was obsessed with Cojo way before this book ever existed and love him even more now! Knew he had the glamour part down, but now I learn he's got the substance too??? Talk about the whole package! Truth be told, we all sweat the small stuff way too often. His book serves as a wake up call reminding us of what really matters. And YES Sista, there is more to life than Manolo's. In "Glamour Interrupted," Cojo inspires us all "to put on our big girl panties." Seriously, what I wouldn't give for a lunch at The Ivy with this man...

My husband has PKD and his mother is preparing for a kidney transplant. I knew who Cojo was but had no idea about his ordeal until reading about his book in last week Peoples magazine. I went to the bookstore on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and finally found it on the shelf Thursday. I loved this book! Cojo is funny, sweet, brave and bit*&y all at the same time. The truth about PKD is still ugly but reading this book made it a little less terrifying. I am now a Cojo fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars HUMOR AND HUMILITY IN THE WAKE OF TRAGEDY, January 24, 2008

I just finished reading "Glamour, Interrupted" and I must say... I loved it! Being a longtime Cojo fan, I didn't know what to expect. After all, for someone who makes his living hobnobbing with celebrities on the red carpet, I assumed the book would focus more on the "Glamour" and less on the "Interrupted." But I was pleasantly surprised. I actually caught a glimpse of the man behind the facade. And I experienced the gamut of emotions. I laughed. I cried. And laughed some more. The best way to put it is this-- Cojo may be lacking a kidney, but he has plenty of heart! I recommend this book to anyone who's ever faced an adversity they didn't think they could overcome. It's truly inspirational.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Inspirational, Funny, & Powerful Read, February 3, 2008
By
This review is from: Glamour, Interrupted: How I Became the Best-Dressed Patient in Hollywood (Hardcover)
When I saw Cojo discuss his book on Larry King, I ran out for my copy. You see, my close friend had a kidney transplant recently. I had hoped that this book might shed light on what was a difficult time in her life, her family's life, my life - and it did. I couldn't put it down. It's an amazing journey of a man who went from red carpets and celebrity banter to an emotional roller-coaster ride of doctors and kidney tranplants. Cojo uses humor and wit to deal with a traumatic time, and in the process learns what's truly important: family, friends, and self-acceptance. If you want to be inspired - even enlightened - I highly recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly engaging read, February 8, 2008

I have to admit that I approached this book with some apprehension, thinking it might be somewhat depressing given its subject matter, but it's actually a really life affirming book and a witty read to boot. Cojo is inspirational yet utterly human throughout it all.

I cannot begin to express how much I enjoyed Cojo's book. Like Cojo, I have had a failed kidney transplant from a very dear friend and am currently undergoing treatments so I can have another transplant soon. I Loved the comedy that he brought to a not so funny situation. I am so very glad Cojo is feeling so well and I look forward to the day I will also not have to have dialysis three nights a week. Thanks Cojo for letting other people know what we have gone through, I am making all of my friends read the book!

This book was incredible. I couldn't put it down. I could relate to his anger, depression, and finally happiness. He really made me open my eyes to the issues I have at hand. I recently had major back surgery, and I went through all the emotions he did. (all though my wasn't life threating) I do not normally read these kind of books, but a friend told me to read it, due the fact that I was in a deep depression myself. He really made great light of a bad situation. I would recommend this to book to everyone.(which I already have)

Thank you Cojo you really made me feel that things can get better no matter what the situation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Go Cojo!, March 23, 2008

Only Cojo could turn his personal tragedy of being diagnosed with PKD into an entertaining, witty, and creative story! After picking up this book, I was a little curious about what the story would contain, considering that Cojo has already given us his biography in a previous book. I was also afraid that the story would be entirely too depressing.

Boy was I wrong! I loved this book and wasn't the least bit disappointed. Cojo delivers in true Cojo fashion as he bares his soul and still keeps you laughing out loud, all while take you along on the journey of his own personal hell.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who's a fan of the Entertainment Tonight fashion guru. This is definitley Cojo at his best! What an amazing and talented man!
