This review is from: Glaring from Spacious Woods & Mountains of Eternal (Audio CD)
At first glance, Peordh's album might seem a little underwhelming, but after a few listens it becomes a very rewarding album. Of the seven tracks, only three ('I Freely Roam', 'Winds That Never Fail', and 'An Unbroken Trust') are really actual black metal songs; the rest are mostly ambient, which is kind of a bummer. The three actual metal songs are all very lengthy and hypnotic slabs of pagan black metal, sort of similar to the style that Drudkh plays. The music is fairly simple, with a good amount of repetition in the riffing and drums. The production is not amazing but fits the music well. After a few listens the music sinks into you and you begin to really appreciate the unique atmosphere it creates. If you're a fan of this sort of music then Peordh will probably not disappoint.
