The title drew me to the book as well as all the great reviews saying that the book is a fun read. The author definitely has a good sense of humor. I found myself laughing out loud more than once.
But the book is more than just one liners. Nicholas does a great job incorporating some good facts about wine in the book that any wine drinker should appreciate. He also mixes in some fun facts that are nice to whip out when you are around your friends and maybe have had a few too many...
- The current record for the largest bottle of wine, 1850 liters and over 15 feet tall...WTH
This book is perfect for a wine drinking beginner and for those that already have a decent knowledge of wine. It's maybe not for those that take wine WAY too seriously (believe me, I know a few of these people). The book is light, fun and informative. I definitely would and will recommended this book to many of my friends.
Its a great funny read Nick is very amusing which makes it that much easier to get through. Seriously, this is a great little read and will really help you. Who'd have know that the dimple in the bottom of the bottle is a "punt" or the reasons for synthetic and screw tops EVEN ON BIG $$ Wines? Even as one that has invested time in my wine education, (my husband says that I do this way too often...killjoy what's he complaining about he benefits from the wine goggles LOL)
Yes, you can take that know it all at the table and serve them some humble pie!
Thank you for writing this book, buy it, read it, go drink some wine,
Hey, the AMA even says its good for your health, who am I to argue with the AMA
