I did a lot of reading of various Amazon reviews before I purchased this pair of glasses. It didn't help. :-) Unfortunately, these just aren't worth it for a number of reasons:
1.) Both eyes won't focus together because the frame is not stiff enough 2.) The eye-relief (distance from the lens you can hold your eye) is very low. I was expecting that but it does make them difficult to use. 3.) The optics quality. The image just never looked very clear and crisp. I'm not the optical equivalent of an audiophile, but even I found myself constantly trying to clean the lens. 4.) The magnification needs to be 4x. I would have though 3x would be fine but was surprised that I just couldn't really see the performer's face as well as I wanted to a certain times. From the middle-back of the house I wanted something just a touch more powerfull. 5.) With onle a 25mm opening it doesn't let enough light in. That may explain my third complaint. But keep in mind that stage lighting is only going to be just so bright. If anyone discovers a 4 (or 3) X 35 Opera Glasses make by a high-quality manufacturer please let me know. I would upgrade. And for what it is worth, we didn't even bring these to the next show we saw. Perhaps that tells you something.

Up to no now I have used cheap ($40-60) compact 8X20, binoculars to view the stage at concerts and ballet. However the 8X magnification of these seemed too great so I assumed that a dedicated "opera" glass would give a better view. Sadly, although HQR seem a quality maker, the image is very poor relative to the view through binoculars. The field of view is narrow and fades badly towartds the edge of the image. Much more like a "toy" device than a proper optical device. They do look very nice it has to be said, but for viewing the stage conventional binoculars are much clearer.Mark
