5.0 out of 5 stars Finally... 3-D glasses that work with Minecraft February 24, 2011

Durability: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
We have tried 3 sets of 3-D glasses to use for my sons to play Minecraft in 3-D. None of them worked until we got these. These are awesome, fit perfectly and work fantastically. I think for computer games in 3-D, not just any 3-D glasses will work. We tried regular blue/red cardboard glasses, and they were as if we had nothing on. Then we tried some from a local movie theatre and they worked just slightly. A neighbor had some supposed anaglyph glasses but they were like the cardboard ones and it was as if we had nothing on our eyes. Then I read a few reviews on a Minecraft forum about these 3-D glasses and thought we'd try them. VOILA!! They work! Totally worth the rather high shipping, in my opinion. We tried these while watching a movie on our iMac in 3-D and they worked for that as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great... April 1, 2011

...for 3D movies as well as Nvidia 3D Vision Discovery/Stereoscopic 3D gaming. Being what they are, the technology has its limitations, but these minimize them quite well. Worth the purchase to have around. I bought several pair for movie nights/gaming fun with friends.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for minecraft June 14, 2011
Verified Purchase
As other reviewers have stated, these are very good for minecraft. I was using cardboard ones and they were only so-so. There was a little ghosting with these, but not bad. Certainly better than others I have tried. The quality of the glasses is much higher than others I have purchased. I would recommend these glasses. I will be purchasing more!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good for the price. December 3, 2010
Verified Purchase
I have 3 sets of 3-D glasses, starting with the cheap paper ones. This is the best performer, it is not perfect, but it is great for the price. I noticed it works much better with a computer LCD display, than with a TV-CRT. Big difference! Using the same movie and scene to compare. This may account for the wide difference in feedback.

2.0 out of 5 stars Red side is off & Frames are small November 11, 2011

Durability: 4.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 2.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
These are actually pretty decently built, but....

The frames are made for someone with a smaller head than I have. the legs of the glasses push into my head right along that soft part over my ears. I'll try bending them out some later, but I'm not optimistic about how well they will reform.

The plastic used to make them is fairly thick and feels like they will put up with some abuse which is nice.

The largest issue though is that the red side color is off. I ordered two pairs of these glasses and have tried with 3 computer monitors and my TV, the Cyan side does a great job of filtering but the red side leaves a terrible ghost. Overall that leaves a 2D image over the 3D image and results in nothing but distractions and headaches.

2 stars because you get what you pay for... cheap glasses = cheap glasses.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good April 28, 2012

I tried this item (ProAna) and the ProX glasses for comparison.

-ProAna (this item): 3D Glasses Pro Ana (TM) for movies - HIGH END - Anaglyph Glasses for Computers, Movies - Less Ghosting - Ships from the USA

-ProX:Pro X Style Red/Cyan 3D Glasses for Movies and Games on Flat Screens

---
The ProAna (this item) work much better. The frames feel very flimsy, but the lenses are what matter. The lenses have the right colors, so when you look through both lenses, even bright light is eliminated (which means the red and cyan are tinted correctly to prevent ghosting). They definitely work, you get a strong 3d effect, but you still can't see colors well, at least using Nvidia Discover to play games. Sometimes makes me motion sick to play games with it, but that is true of all red/cyan 3d glasses.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the purchase.

EDIT: After using them a little longer, I can say that although the lens colors are matched perfectly, the color is not correct for most things. Oddly, the blue lens is good, but the red lens has significant ghosting and that makes things strange. I am curious why this happens, since the lenses are absolutely perfectly matched to each other and the blue is good the red should be as well, but there is definitely still ghosting in the red lens.

I really don't know why tweaking anaglyph colors is never an option. Nvidia's colors are pretty off, and youtube's red is wrong for these glasses. I think both nvidia and youtube should have a simple flash or java color set-up process to account for variations in 3d glasses. It definitely would not be difficult!

Overall, I think you have to trust your luck. But they are very inexpensive, so I can't complain too much

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of money
My son ordered these and they are a joke. The colored lenses make it impossible to see through them. Fortunately they were cheap as they are worthless.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cheap but effective
The wrap-around design and lack of bottom frame are good and allow for an unimpeded viewing experience. Cheap feeling construction.
