5.0 out of 5 stars Super gift!
This book is a great gift for any kid who needs glasses. I am buying my third copy. I always buy it for each of my neices or nephews who get glasses. Also as a third grade teacher I keep it on my bookshelf to send home with students who need glasses. Lane Smith is one of my favorite illustrators and I certainly enjoy him in this writing effort.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's alright
I bought this for my 5-year old, and it was a little older for her. We DID like the "twist" at the end, and how the language in the book is accurate for kids. Not the best, in my opinion, for her age, but would be GREAT for an 8+ year old kid.

4.0 out of 5 stars Glasses - who needs em?, March 13, 2006
A Kid's Review
Some of it was scary. Their teeth looked funny. I laughed at what they saw. I wear my glasses too.

My Mom and Dad liked the book, but when they read it to me, they left out a couple of things they thought might be too scary for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars A whimsical tale of a young patient who needs some extraordinary examples, December 15, 2005
"Only dorks wear glasses," maintains the young patient, but it's up to the 'mad optometrist' to prove otherwise in Glasses: Who Needs 'em? From pink elephants and little green men to robots, the optometrist is convinced all could benefit in this zany, whimsical tale of a young patient who needs some extraordinary examples.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Glasses (Who Needs 'Em?) (Picture Puffins) (Paperback)
Purchased this book, listed as "Good quality" gently used.. Arrived with torn spine, pages loose and corners worn out... Terrible quality, should have been paper recycled not sold again. Story is cute in helping a child relate to their new glasses, but would never purchase from this vendor again.
